  • Converted farm steading just 3 miles from the border town of Jedburgh
  • Beautifully presented inside and out, with a sunny private garden
  • Walking, cycling, running, golfing and fishing all available close by
Property code: OC-82742

With a break at this converted steading, family and friends will be surrounded by lovely walking, cycling and running routes from the doorstep. Sleeping four in two cosy bedrooms, urbanites can explore the independent shops, cafe and restaurants while outdoor enthusiasts can cycle quiet lanes and walk green fields, admiring the far-reaching views over the Scottish Borders.

A comfortable and cosy cottage, cream walls are dotted with artwork and a neutral palette throughout is complemented by pretty, patterned textiles and soft furnishings. The light palette and windows work to create a bright space that becomes a cosy bolthole once the electric flame-effect fire is lit and the evening arrives.

Step into the hallway and discard outdoor gear and wet wellies to potter through to the spacious kitchen. Gather everyone around the dining table to start and end the day together with a delicious, home-cooked meal, discussing the days adventures and planning the next. Repair to the lounge for an after-dinner aperitif, warming your toes in front of the electric fire and settling down on the reclining sofa for a movie night. Soothing tones of pale blue and mauve in the bedrooms allow for a tranquil nights sleep; wake to the sunlight pouring in.

Outside, relax in the small private garden, soaking up the early morning sun with a coffee as the children play on the lawn. A lovely tranquil place to unwind after a day exploring the beautiful Borders countryside, the garden is also the perfect spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine or a wee dram. There is parking for two cars.

We had a lovely week at this cottage and were lucky to get decent weather. The property is very well equipped, clean and the bed was very comfy. We received plenty of information from the owner beforehand and they responded to messages whilst we were there promptly. The neighbours we spoke to were all very friendly and helpful. Definitely need a caRead morer, but it's not far out of Jedburgh and Kelso is about a 15 min drive. Hide

We had a lovely stay - Viki and Peter were great hosts, from the initial communications, directions, and suggestions of places to go, to even what we wanted in the welcome pack (which, by the way, was excellent). The cottage is lovely, quiet, spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The location is perfect for touring the borders - lots to do and Read moresee. We can recommend the Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels (which has a super cafe) and Robert Smail's Printing Works in Innerleithen. Hide

A beautifully appointed cottage in a very quiet location, ideally located for visiting the nearby towns apart from Jedburgh (Kelso, Melrose, Galashiels, other attractions). The owners have thought of everything in terms of equipment and fittings - everything is high quality. There is a lot of information (brochures etc.) in the cottage and videos, Read moregames and books. Great welcome pack as well which was greatly appreciated, and the owners tailored it to our preferences. Stay - you'll love it! Hide
