This gorgeous cottage in a secluded spot close to Glen Doll in one of Angus’ five spectacular glens, Glen Clova, is an ideal rural retreat for friends/families to relax in style. The area has an abundance of natural beauty all year round with lots of rare wildlife to spot, including eagles, red squirrels and roe deer – you may even be lucky enough to spot something in the cottage’s mature, enclosed garden. Just 10 miles south is the town of Kirriemuir, known as the ‘Gateway to the Glens’, which is an excellent base for exploring the braes of Angus and is home to the birthplace of Peter Pan author, JM Barrie, which is now owned by the National Trust.

Muted, period colours and rustic charm are blended effortlessly with contemporary design to create a stunning property, whilst a few quirky features add interest.

You arrive in the hall where there is plenty of seating and storage for outdoor gear. Moving through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, light floods in to add to the feeling of space. The modern and well-equipped kitchen allows everyone to help with the cooking and has French doors leading outside, whilst the lounge has comfortable sofas to sink into whether you’re watching TV or admiring the view. There is also a second lounge with unusual bench-like seating and a wood burner. The ground floor has a handy utility room as well as a quirky super king-size bedroom, where the bed is in its own recessed den. There is an immaculate en-suite shower room too.

Upstairs, you’ll find two further king-size bedrooms, which are both large, beautifully decorated and enjoy views over Glen Cova, and a bathroom.

Outside, there is plenty of space to enjoy, whether it’s with a morning coffee, a dram of whisky or for a spot of stargazing.

The outside was poorly maintained. Clearly no attention for some time. The lip from the road to the drive needs attention as it is too much of a drop. The overall decoration was tired with lots of parts needing attention. The bedding and pillows were not good quality. The shower water did not run away so you stand in water and the water went over tRead morehe tray. The sink same problem. Overall the cleaning needs attention. I could not access the vacuum as the cord was buried in a pile of junk. Hide

A beautiful house in a stunning location. Well equipped and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a calm and relaxing holiday. If nature and wildlife is your thing this house is a must do, it's got it by the bucket full. Don't be put off by the road behind the property, we counted six cars one day, must have been rush hour. The snug with thRead moree log burner on can be highly recommended, especially on the cold winter days outside. We will return soon and thankyou for the yummy welcome pack. Hide

We had a great week at Glasslet with lots of fab walks, good food and a couple of nights out at the nearby hotel. The house is fabulous - well equipped and with plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 dogs. We loved the cosy lounge and used the open fire every night, and the large open plan kitchen/sitting area was perfect for cooking, eating and just aRead moredmiring the view! The owner couldnt have been more helpful (even when we were delayed) - it s our second visit to Glasslet and wont be our last. Hide

If peace and quiet are your requirements, then Glasslet is perfect. The utter silence and dark is amazing. The cottage was warm and really well equipped - one of the best weve enjoyed. There is plenty to do in the area generally, although plan well if you intend to take your four-legged friend to places as this limits things a little.

We had a lovely week here with our dog and got very lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy sitting in the large garden a lot enjoying the amazing views and wildlife. The cottage is very big but very cosy and spotlessly clean. We had some great days out exploring the countryside, and the coast is less than an hour away so we enjoyed some loRead moreng walks along some lovely beaches with our dog too. Would thoroughly recommend this place for a peaceful, relaxed holiday. Hide

This is a beautiful house in a lovely part of the country. The house is warm and comfortable with superb views. Well equipped with everything you might need. Contact with Beau in advance was great and his relaxed and helpful approach was very refreshing. The only issue for us was the security of the garden. The fencing is not really high / consisteRead morent enough to safely allow a lurcher with a strong prey drive off the lead. A shame, but it wouldn't stop us going back to this fantastic property.
