This charming holiday home is in the village of Dalrymple in Southern Scotland. The property welcomes three guests and makes an excellent base for couples and small families looking to explore the idyllic Doon Valley, with its riverside and woodland trails. For keen golfers, the courses at Royal Troon and Turnberry are within 17 miles.
The mid-terrace cottage is decorated in calming, neutral tones, with little pops of colour in the accessories and soft furnishings. A step leads up to the hallway, and from here you can head through to the inviting lounge, featuring plush velvet sofas, pretty artwork on the walls, a TV, and a cosy electric fire. The separate kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering break, and opens onto a bright, conservatory-style dining room overlooking the garden. A shower room and handy utility room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, discover a charming double bedroom and a cosy single set under a sloping ceiling. Outside, the suntrap courtyard garden is a lovely spot for an al fresco supper or a wee dram on a summer’s evening. Parking is on street, subject to availability.
There are some lovely walking routes to enjoy from the village, including along the River Doon and through the Community Wetlands. Alternatively, hop in the car and head to the seaside town of Ayr, just 5.5 miles away, to stroll along the sandy beach or the esplanade. The town has a great range of shops and eateries, as well as the popular Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Nearby attractions/days out include Culzean Castle, Crossraguel Abbey, and Dalcairney Falls (all within 15 miles).
