A whisky lover’s dream, this cosy converted bunkroom sits just outside pretty Pitlochry. Sleeping two in a cosy mezzanine area, it is ideal as a romantic hideaway in this beautiful part of Perthshire.

The property is in two parts, with the cosy timber bunkroom forming the living and sleeping area, and the charming stone-built kitchen and wet room just across the courtyard. With quirky nods to the property’s whisky heritage dotted around, the bunkroom’s wooden interior is cosy and welcoming.

Stepping into the bunkroom, you come into the bijou living area, with a comfy corner sofa (that can be made into a sofa bed), perfect for relaxing in the evening in front of the glowing wood burner. Pour yourself a glass of Edradour and sit back in front of a film before heading up the ladder to the enticing mezzanine sleeping area, where the zip-and-link king-size bed can be made into two singles if required. In the morning, head back down and across the private courtyard to the well-equipped kitchen. The handy breakfast bar is the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee, or on a warm day, sit out on the patio or take a dip in the hot tub and enjoy the sunshine. After breakfast, enjoy a hot shower in the smart, contemporary wet room before heading out for the day.

Outside, the sheltered patio area has plenty of comfortable seating around a chiminea for keeping warm on chilly evenings. A charcoal BBQ offers opportunities for al fresco dining – the perfect way to round off a day in the fresh air.

Pros- Clean, well located and hot tub was fun. Cons- The heating didn't work, no compensation or understanding from the owner. Wifi dropped out multiple times. Unfortunately the underfloor heating doesn't work (it was -6C outside) and we had to rely on keeping the wood stove burner alive. One basket of wood is free, 10 for using more wood, this is Read moredifficult when you stay for more than a night. Had to troubleshoot the wifi more than once as it dropped off sporadically. Hide

The description of the accommodation is a wee bit misleading in stating there's a lounge/dining area. It is only a lounge area and meals have to be eaten off your lap. It also stated that you can enjoy a coffee in the kitchen area but only 1 stool. The shower has a very weak flow. We were a bit disappointed.

Lovely location with a path at the bottom of the hill that goes straight into Pitlochry/Moulin via the Black Spout. The property itself is very cute and the host was quick to respond and very friendly/helpful. The hot tub being set going ahead of our arrival was a particularly nice touch. Heating it ourselves was more of a challenge. It does take cRead moreonsiderably longer to fill and to heat than stated and remember to give it a stir before jumping in as it heats from the top!
