Situated on a beautiful site originally owned by Robert the Bruce, this fabulous house makes a wonderful base for discovering the tranquil Perthshire countryside. Parts of this impressive listed property date back as far as the 13th century, including the stone spiral staircase in the magnificent entrance hall. This extensive property offers idyllic accommodation for a large family get-together including weddings, group celebrations, business seminars or corporate events. Set in spectacular grounds, and with ample space for 24 guests, this is a fantastic house for relaxing in.

 

This large holiday retreat offers spacious and welcoming accommodation, and has been tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished throughout. The magnificent public rooms feature rich furnishings and an array of interesting objects and details, and provide ample space for you to gather. The house also features 13 sumptuous bedrooms.

 

Entering this historic property you will find yourself in the impressive Robert the Bruce entrance hall. The ground floor features a number of public rooms including a small reception hall, a spacious grand drawing room perfect for receptions, and a useful writing room for guests needing to catch up with some work. There’s an additional lounge with a large bay window overlooking the beautiful garden. The formal dining room seats up to 30 guests and offers lovely views across the garden and is perfect for enjoying a lavish celebratory meal which can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen also features a useful breakfast area ideal for grabbing a quick snack. Exploring the ground floor further there’s a utility room, butler’s pantry and a billiards room.

 

The first floor offers 13 elegantly decorated and cosily furnished bedrooms. The Cox Suite comprises two double bedrooms (one of them with a 7’ bed), a single bedroom, bathroom, shower room and separate WC. The Glamis Suite offers a double bedroom (with 5’ x 6’6’’ bed), en-suite shower room and dressing room. The Nairne Suite also features a double bedroom (with 5’ x 6’6’’ bed) plus an additional single bedroom and an en-suite shower room. There are three twin rooms each with a separate bathroom: the De Tyrie Room, the Bruce room and the Wharncliffe. There are two further twin rooms – the Elizabeth Room and the Wallace room, the latter with an en-suite shower room and cot. Two further double bedrooms can be found – the Strathmore Room features a separate shower room, and the Lady in Waiting (with a 5’ x 6’6’’ bed) has an en-suite bathroom and separate WC.

 

Outside there are 16 acres to explore, with landscaped gardens and ancient woodland, including a 200-year-old elm. There’s plenty of space to sit back and enjoy al fresco meals, or you could take part in a game of croquet on the croquet lawn.

Perfect venue in a perfect location. Loved this house. It was everything we could have wanted for a family celebration. Saw red squirrel. Roe deer and red kites without leaving the house, so it was a very special weekend

We have just returned from a wonderful Christmas week with our family of 20. We gather every two years and Drumkilbo is definitely the best property we've stayed in. A warm, welcoming house there were plenty of rooms and the history of the building was fascinating. Absolutely stunning home. It was such a treat to stay here for the week. It has all that you need, and more. Wonderful place to stay with beautiful surroundings. Kim was also fantastic. She made as feel very welcome and was so helpful!
