  • A short walk into Blairgowrie
  • The perfect base for walkers, golfers and fishers
Property code: OC-CA248

Ideal for a family or small group of friends, this delightful Scottish residence sets you up for relaxation and adventure in a peaceful setting. The four-person house is around 1.5 miles from the centre of Blairgowrie, a picturesque burgh set among the scenic beauty of Perthshire. Whether you're a keen walker, a cyclist, a birdwatcher, or a golfer, this two-bed dwelling serves as an ideal base for exploration.

This traditional home has been updated to an exceptional standard, with a spacious layout and attractive decor featuring elegant antique furniture, rich soft furnishings and plenty of colour splashes. Shelves filled with books, artwork on the walls and quirky ornaments make you feel like you've stepped straight into a family home. Another great feature is that there's an abundance of light thanks to a generous number of windows, many of them made from quality wood.

You'll enter into a bright hall that doubles as a conservatory, complete with a cosy seating area and with doors leading off to the other rooms. Step into the roomy lounge and sink into one of the sofas, perhaps lighting up the electric fire for some warmth if it's a little dreich outside. Adjacent to the lounge is a large, stylish kitchen with dark-coloured units and a central dining table for tucking into meals together. Large glass doors lead from here to the outside space, so you can let the outside in on sunny days.

From the hall/conservatory, head up a small flight of stairs to the first floor, where you'll find two cosy twin bedrooms. Each is decorated in warm, welcoming tones that encourage a good night's sleep. One comes with an en-suite shower room, while the other offers a private bathroom equipped with a shower over the bath.

Outside, you'll have a generous walled garden with a paved patio area with seating - excellent for sipping refreshing coffees made in the Nespresso machine. If you've brought the family pet, she'll love letting off steam in the enclosed dog run.

We stayed at Newton Cottage with our Greyhound. We were very impressed, it's so much bigger than it looks on the photos. It's very spacious, light and airy, the decor is lovely. Our Greyhound absolutely loved the enclosed garden, he had lots of zoomies! We would definitely recommend this place!

We really enjoyed staying at Newton Cottage - the location was perfect as we saw squirrels, deer, rabbits and pheasant in the gardens and heard the owls too. The kitchen was a lovely place to cook and eat..very well equipped. The lounge was comfy for the evening and the porch/games room great for the daytime.

Very comfortable cottage, near to all of Blairgowrie's ammeneties but so peaceful, with deer, red squirrels and many different birds including an Owl. Very well equipped kitchen. Warm in the cooler months with very efficient heating and an electric fire in the lounge. I cannot fault this cottage and I am sure that we will return soon.

By far one the best cottages we have stayed at, it's really spacious and well-equipped. The location is great - countryside with plenty of walks nearby and all the amenities are only a few minutes away. We also loved seeing deer at the back of the cottage! Local recommendations: curry from Jahangir and beer at the Ericht Alehouse

Lovely holiday cottage, real home from home comforts. Although the cottage is located in a town you feel that you're in the countryside as it sits on the outskirts where you observe deer from the living room windows. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean holiday cottage with lovely outside space to relax in. The walk into town is an easy 15 minutes but the hill coming back could be a bit hard for some! We saw red squirrels on the wall outside our window and the birdsong is lovely in this peaceful garden.
