Set beside the quiet shores of Loch Arkaig and surrounded by dramatic mountains, this enchanting traditional Highland crofter’s cottage is perfect for those seeking out peace and tranquillity. Set out on foot for a walk around the loch or to take on the hills beyond, or visit Fort William (25 miles) where you will find a good choice of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

This single-storey property has been beautifully updated and extended to offer bright and spacious accommodation with high ceilings, wooden flooring, neutral decor and plenty of natural light throughout. Sympathetically renovated by the owners, thick stone walls and wood panelling remain, while the later additions of a wood burner, stylish kitchen and fresh decor create a comfortable modern feel.

Cook and dine in the fantastic kitchen/diner, which is fitted with contemporary units, sky lights, stylish pendant lighting and has a large dining table in the centre to seat six. Afterwards, step into the stunning lounge, which boasts vaulted ceilings, two sets of patio doors for summer, a wood burner for winter and cosy soft furnishings. While the chic master double bedroom benefits from a spacious en-suite bathroom, the two delightful twin bedrooms share a separate bathroom.

Outside, there is a fantastic private garden with furniture for enjoying al fresco meals in the sunshine. For when the weather is not so kind, there is an external drying room for those soggy walking clothes.

Very well equipped and comfortable. We saw the deer on several days. Nice to walk down to the loch, sadly no osprey sightings. Be mindful that the closest food shop is along way away so ensure you stock up before arriving. All in all a very peaceful stay.
