Once you’ve made the most of this secluded spot, catch a train from Taynuilt and take a day trip to Glasgow to experience Scotland’s eclectic city life.

A stunning Victorian house, this property has been maintained with plenty of charming original features including impressive fireplaces, ornate cornices and vast windows. The spacious rooms of this generous accommodation have been painted in bright and cheerful colours, contributing to the overall light and welcoming atmosphere in this instant home-from-home.

Stop off in the main vestibule to shed wet coats and muddy boots after wild adventures in the great outdoors. Pad downstairs for a late morning breakfast here in the kitchen or make full use of the dining room for relaxing family dinners. Settle down on an evening in one of two lounge areas, switching on the TV in the comfy lounge or enjoying a wee dram by the open fire in the sitting room.

When you head upstairs to bed, the first thing to look out for is the remarkable, far-reaching countryside views that grace the windows – a treat to wake up to each and every morning. Four spacious bedrooms have been lovingly decorated to provide comfortable accommodation for eight guests, ensuring you get the good night’s sleep you need to crack on with your holiday. Three bathrooms on the first floor ensure getting ready in the morning happens as smoothly as possible, with the luxury touch of a free-standing bath boasting a fabulous spot to soak after a tiresome day out.

Beautiful both inside and out, this property benefits from a beautifully landscaped garden, bustling with flowers and mature greenery. A really comfortable place to stay, enhanced by the pictures in every room, and the information about the artists. The cottage sleeps 8 and we were delighted to find the hot water supply was sufficient to cope with showers or baths for all after a strenuous day's walking.
