Tucked away on the Airlie Estate amongst the Angus glens, this attractive stone cottage is the ideal place for couples or families to get away from it all and immerse themselves in the surrounding natural beauty. Against the backdrop of the mountains in the distance, you can take a stroll around the grounds, whilst keeping an eye out for the local wildlife such as deer, squirrels and polecats as well as beavers in nearby River Isla. The area is well-suited to keen walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts with a range of sports on offer.

As you approach up the sweeping driveway and past the well-manicured gardens, you will feel like Lord or Lady of the Manor. This charming cottage is well-presented throughout with a clear sense of heritage; the original features and traditional furniture are enhanced by the neutral palette to create a comfortable home that guests will find easy to relax in.

From the large hallway, head into the cosy lounge where everyone will want to be of an evening, snuggled in front of the roaring open fire; if it gets too warm, you can always open the stable door to let the fresh air in. Lovely little cottage with everything you need. Great to have a log fire on a cool evening although the central heating is good. The surrounding countryside is great for walking and cycling. We had a relaxing and very enjoyable week. Thank you.

Not only is the cottage absolutely beautiful- interior design to die for - but the private den provided the best place we walked in Scotland.

Square Cottage was absolutely beautiful and exactly as described rustic, charming, and full of character. The working log fire made the evenings extra special, and the quaint old-fashioned kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The setting in the Angus countryside was exceptional peaceful, scenic, and truly relaxing. Our host, DRead moreot, was wonderful: warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local area. We would highly recommend it. Hide

Lovely house. We liked that it felt 'old-fashioned' for instance a non-fitted kitchen. It helped us to imagine the castle retainers who had lived there for generations. Magnificent location. We were fortunate that we were there whilst the castle was unoccupied so we could enjoy the near estate almost as if it was all ours. Brilliant time to come asRead more the leaves were turning. We loved this cottage. For a home cook, the kitchen was amazing and the hub of the holiday. Bedrooms were a good size, loved the living room at night to cozy down by the fire. The gardens were amazing for both the family and dogs, extending to the full estate. Very clean and well kept.
