Take a stroll or a short drive of just under a mile into the heart of Balloch. Known as the gateway to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, you will find a great range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and welcoming local pubs in the village.

The loch itself is a fantastic place for water lovers, with activities including paddleboarding, wakeboarding, kayaking and water skiing available. Alternatively, take a cruise from Balloch Pier on an 80-year-old paddle steamer, The Maid of the Loch, the last of her kind to be built in Britain. Don’t miss Balloch Castle Country Park (1 mile) with its 19th-century castle and sweeping views across the loch, or visit in July and get your jig on attending the annual Balloch folk festival.

Loch Lomond Shores (2 miles) is a wonderful place to visit, offering a wide range of indoor, outdoor and water-based activities alongside fantastic shopping and dining for all the family. Also on site is the Loch Lomond Aquarium, where you will find many fascinating creatures of the deep, all in displays which carefully recreate their natural habitats. This magical attraction takes visitors on a journey from a highland stream, via the depths of the loch, to the Atlantic and onward to the Caribbean. Have a thrilling day out at Treezone, an aerial adventure course, or watch a variety of magnificent species at the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre, both of which can again be found at Loch Lomond Shores.

Our lodge was equipped to a very high standard, warm, spacious and everything you need. Great location for exploring that area of Scotland and walking distance from Loch Lomond. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in number 1 lodge. The lodge was spacious and well-equipped. The hot tub was a real bonus and the views from it were beautiful. The location was good- easy walk into Balloch through the country estate. We enjoyed a loch cruise and a delicious meal at Tullies Inn.
