Located just inside Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, wonderful countryside walks begin at your doorstep. The village of Balloch is just under a mile away and home to a range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and welcoming local pubs. Try your hand at a variety of water sports on Loch Lomond such as paddleboarding, wakeboarding, kayaking and water skiing.

For a more sedate day out, take a boat ride on a restored steamer from Balloch Pier to see some of the loch’s local wildlife. Balloch Castle Country Park (1 mile) is home to a fabulous 19th-century castle offering sweeping views across the loch, and the grounds play host to the Loch Lomond Highland Games each summer.

At Loch Lomond Shores (2 miles), you will find all the entertainment you need with something for every member of the family, including the Loch Lomond Aquarium, the Lomond Bird of Prey Centre and the Treezone aerial adventure course.

Managed by The National Trust of Scotland, Hill House is an architectural masterpiece designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and can be found 8.5 miles away. No trip to Scotland can be complete without a whisky tasting at a nearby distillery. Try the Glengoyne (16 miles) and Auchentoshan (11.5 miles) distilleries for a wee dram or two.

Beautiful cottage in a great location, well equipped with all basic equipment required. Private grounds which are enclosed and safe for children and pets .

Wonderful New Years stay at the cottage. Beautifully kitted out, super comfy, spacious - plus a wonderful steaming hot tub. Nothing like sitting in the hot tub and looking at the snowy hills! Very easy check in and check out, peaceful location. Great smells and walks nearby for dogs. Close to Balloch which has a supermarket, great pubs, great walksRead more, and directly onto the Loch. Was so pleased with this wonderful property, which ticked the many boxes I apply when looking for accommodation... Lovely property, immaculately presented and very well equipped with all the basics you need for a break (and some luxuries too). Good parking facilities and very good for dogs. We have two giant breed dogs and the property was well thought out for them.
