Pack your bags and head to the wonderful west coast of Scotland for a magical escape from day to day life. Journey along the spectacular shore of Loch Fyne, down the quaint 1-mile driveway and arrive at this delightful dwelling which is tucked away on 1,200 acres of farmland. Sleeping eleven guests, grab family, friends and furry companions and frolic in the large gardens, play a game of tennis or head down to the estate’s private beach for a paddle. Despite the house having everything you could dream of and more, you must venture out and explore the wonderful lochs and landscapes which surround you.
Step inside, dump your bags and throw off coats and shoes in the traditional yet trendy hall and head into the heart of the home. An 18th-century Scottish laird’s house, this dwelling still holds a great deal of character which adds warmth and charm throughout. The open-plan kitchen/diner is a wonderfully sleek and spacious room which flows through to the conservatory. With plenty of space for all hands-on deck, make light work of cooking up a storm and gather at the table to savour each bite and raise a glass to your Scottish break. Light floods in through fantastic windows creating a lively and sociable ambience. Once dinner is finished, enjoy a tipple in the conservatory or head to the lounge and curl up by the open fire. For a quieter moment, choose a book from the library which also boasts an open fire and lose yourself in a holiday tale or two.
Climb stairs to the first floor where four of five bedrooms await. Smartly decorated with warm furnishings, you’ll have no trouble resting your eyes and drifting off to sleep in these lovely spaces. All bedrooms are treated to en-suites so there is no need to queue in the morning and you can enjoy a relaxing soak or a quick freshen up. The bunk room is a great spot for children to have sleepovers, although there are bound to be big discussions over who gets top bunk!
The second floor is home to a playroom with a small billiards table and a TV, the ideal spot for younger guests to retreat to after dinner. Challenge each other to a competitive game and then head to bed, the final bedroom lies on the second floor and again is a lovely place to fall asleep.
The magic continues outside where you can dine alfresco and savour a sizzling BBQ on the patio, roam the grounds with a cup of tea in hand and challenge sporty guests to a game of tennis on the court.
