Superb well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings. Good service from the friendly local owners. Vodaphone easily available. So many interesting and tasty things to explore. Kylescu Hotel and Lairg pier particular favourites, and the Geopark.

The cottage was neat and clean and comfortable, and also generally well equipped. Loads of kitchen gear, and straightforward appliances. We had plenty of towels, and there were extra pillows and blankets in case we needed them. Also very welcome was the drawer full of leaflets and maps and suggestions of things to do in the area, as well as the cupRead moreboard full of jigsaws which were useful on the one rainy day we had. The cottage was well located for Handa Island and the beautiful walk from Laxford Bridge to the bay. The children had enough room to fly kites behind the cottage, and they also enjoyed messing about in the mud flats over the road. Future guests might wish to note that the cottage is located right next to a fairly fast road, so younger children would need to be supervised when outside, especially if crossing the road to the mud flats. The bath drainage wasn't too great, but that's a minor niggle. It would also have been nice if the kitchen had had a few mini packets of salt/pepper/sugar/laundry detergent - easy to forget to bring and then one has to buy whole packets/containers from Scourie or wherever. Nice cottage in a fabulous location. Good food at Kylescu, Scourie and Kinlochbervie. Seafood restaurant at Tarbet looks nice too but not open till Easter. Great walks and bike rides nearby.
