The quaint and picturesque village of Gardenstown is one of three fishing villages (alongside Crovie and Pennan) on the Aberdeenshire coast between Fraserburgh and Macduff. Gardenstown is a cliff-side village with a good pub, bustling harbour and an 11th century chapel. The property is ideally situated on the main street, with the harbour within a quarter of a mile. You can take a stroll along the waterfront and admire the stunning sunsets and breathtaking views, and maybe catch a glimpse of seals or dolphins swimming in the bay. You can get closer to the wildlife in the area – and in the sea – by taking a boat trip from the pretty coastal town of Macduff (8 miles). Macduff is renowned for its fishing industry, with seafood arriving daily at the harbour. The town is also home to a choice of pubs and restaurants – many specialising in seafood – and there are popular attractions including the Royal Tarlair Golf Club, Macduff Marine Aquarium, Macduff Maritime Garden, Tarlair Outdoor Swimming Pool and The Platform – a popular shopping centre. Crossing the Deveron Bridge, you will reach Macduff's neighbour Banff (9.5 miles), a historic town which is home to Banff Castle, Banff Museum and the splendid Duff House. Nature lovers can visit the RSPB Scotland Troup Head Nature Reserve (3 miles). Other local landmarks include Delgatie Castle (13 miles) and St Drostan's Well (8 miles). There are plenty of activities to try including golf, fishing, riding, sailing, canoeing, surfing, walking and cycling.

Exc grnd flr in Main St of Gardenstown. Host made sure everything we could ever need was provided even ensuring a welcome pack of food which included everything for our Sunday breakfast as well as 2 tins of home baking. Only downside was that the garden isnt adjacent to the house. It was accessed via a lane and through a locked outbuilding but was Read morefully enclosed which was a bonus. Friendly pub a few houses along was perfect for an evening of gin rummy. Beach down a set of nearby steps. Hide

Great cottage, clean, comfortable and quiet. Parking location is tight on a narrow street, with limited spaces but manageable. The cottage has everything needed for a holiday away from home. Great area to explore and our 2 small dogs loved the beach and surrounding walks.
