Fabulous property comfortably accommodating large families and groups of friends and is a great base for exploring beautiful Argyll with views across the mountains, and maybe to enjoy boat trip.

This large, detached house in the popular village of Dalmally in the Scottish Highlands is the ideal place for family and friends to immerse themselves in the stunning scenery and relax into a slower pace of life. Dalmally is a favourite with visitors because it has a variety of landscapes nearby, including lochs, mountains, glens and rivers, which are spectacular all year round. The surroundings provide ample opportunities for a wealth of outdoor activities, whether you’re interested in walking, Munro-bagging, cycling, kayaking, climbing, fishing or skiing. Dalmally is situated on the coast-to-coast walking route from Oban to St Andrews and also has its own train station for easy travel links on the Glasgow to Oban route. Keen photographers will be kept busy here as the area boasts a variety of flora and fauna as well as plenty of historic buildings, including possibly the most photographed castle in Scotland, Kilchurn Castle, which is only 1.5 miles from the house. At the end of a busy day exploring, you can retire to the house to sit around the fire pit on the patio as the sun sets.

This spacious property occupies a quiet location and has beautiful views from the front of the property. The property’s style is a blend of timeless décor and contemporary fittings, which creates a comfortable home to relax in.

As you enter, you’ll arrive in the good-sized hallway. From here, you can move into the lounge where the large window frames the lovely view. The lounge offers lots of space for everyone and has a TV/DVD. Moving into the lounge/diner, you will notice the kitchen is contemporary and well-equipped with everything you’ll need to cook a family meal. There is a utility room adjacent to the kitchen providing further space for outdoor kit. From the kitchen, you pass through a unique archway into the dining area, which has ample seating for everyone. You will also find three lovely double bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which has an en-suite shower room; this is in addition to the large, tiled bathroom with a separate shower and spa bath.

Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms, which are immaculately presented. One is a double and the other is a twin, both sharing the shower room on this floor.

Stepping out through the patio doors in the kitchen, you will find a private patio area, with seating, BBQ and a fire pit, so that you can enjoy the views from your elevated position. There is ample parking to the front of the house.

This property is in a great location to explore this corner of the Scottish Highlands, and has relatively easy access to lots of beautiful and interesting places. For experienced walkers, there are two Munros to be bagged near here: Ben Cruachan (8 miles) and Ben Lui (18 miles). The River Orchy that flows very close to Dalmally is a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts and kayakers. As is Loch Awe, which is particularly famous for trout fishing, although salmon also pass through on their way to the river. Loch Awe is also home to many ruined castles on its islands, including Kilchurn Castle at its northern end. For excellent examples of Scottish Georgian architecture, head to Inverarary (16 miles) which overlooks Loch Fyne; it also has an award-winning museum in the jail and courthouse. Oban (24 miles) is a little further away, but is a lovely seaside town with day trips to its three nearby islands including Mull. If you're visiting during winter and don't mind the drive, Glencoe ski resort is 31 miles away and offers wintersports against a breathtaking backdrop. And finally, if flora and fauna are your area of interest, Glen Nant Nature Reserve is 15 miles away, but you'll also see plenty of wildlife closer to the property, such as eagles, red squirrels, otters and seals – so be sure to have your binoculars on you at all times.

Never have we enjoyed such a roomy, comfortable, well equipped and well maintained holiday cottage. A family of 6 where the 4 children are merely young adults. The house is beautifully located in a very nice part of Scotland. Special thanks to the owner. With COVID-19 around the check-in was arranged to be self-catered. But she checked in on us andRead more made us feel very welcome. At some point we needed some local assistance and she did not hesitate to help out! Thanks so much! Hide

The cottage was beautiful - clean, warm, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. We spent New Year here - we were greeted with Prosecco, balloons and chocolate which we thought was a lovely touch. We wouldn`t hesitate to come back!
