Charming detached cottage perfect for a romantic retreat with wood burner and wonderful glen and mountain views towards the magnificent Cairngorms and Black Water River with fishing rights.

Moored on the banks of Black Water River, this welcoming cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, sleeping two in a king-size, four-poster bed. Couples and up to three four-pawed pals will love relaxing and unwinding amongst the peaceful countryside after a busy day exploring quaint villages, rugged mountains, woodland trails and stately homes in Perthshire.

Step inside this cottage to find an authentic charm complemented with modern comforts. Flagged floors and the stone fireplace blend effortlessly with contemporary styling, with cream walls punctuated with bright artwork and vibrant soft furnishings adding a touch of character. Large windows in the lounge give a sense of space and light during the day but, once the wood burner is lit, it becomes a cosy bolthole.

Step into the sunroom, the comfortable seating ideal for soaking up the rays, and open the double doors to the lounge. The heart of the cottage and perfect for snuggling down at the end of a busy day, kick back on the comfortable sofas here to enjoy a movie night with a glass of wine. Prepare a romantic meal for two in the kitchen before dining at the table as the wood burner flickers. Wake refreshed in the four-poster bed, serene in a palette of cream punctuated with touches of red, to have your morning coffee in the garden listening to the sound of the river.

Outside, the rear garden is lawned and unfenced to the river so make sure your furry friends are watched. With direct access to the bonnie Black Water, why not try your hand at fishing? Enjoy morning strolls and lazy afternoons on the grass, finishing the day with a spot of al fresco dining. There is ample off-road parking available in front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Blairgowrie (11 miles) is your closest town, with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Here golfers can play 18 holes or further afield at Pitlochry (16 miles) and Dalmunzie (9 miles). You could also visit the nearby Persie Distillery (2.5 miles) for a spot of gin tasting! Pitlochry (16 miles) has lots of souvenir shops and, if youre looking to stop off for something to eat, theres a great choice of hotels and restaurants in the town. Dunkeld (22 miles) has an array of quality eateries, speciality and bespoke shops. Historians shouldn’t miss Scone Palace (25 miles), a grand, gothic stately home with gardens and a maze, and the majestic Glamis Castle (22 miles) and the beautiful surrounding gardens. Adventure enthusiasts can try kayaking and canoeing in various locations along rivers and the coast with Outdoor Explore (9 miles), whilst Nae Limits (9.5 miles) offers canyoning, white-water rafting and quad biking. Highland Fling Bungee (20 miles) has a bungee, swing and ziplining course – thrillseekers will love it! For avid skiers and snowboarders, Glenshee is 13 miles away. Avid hikers can tackle Munros from the Spittal Of Glenshee where there are eight Munros within 15 miles. Cairn Aosda, Glas Maol and Driesh have fantastic views from the peaks and are not for the faint-hearted. The bustling city of Perth (25 miles) offers a range of entertainment, shops, cafés, restaurants and the famous racecourse and is recognised as one of Scotlands leading culinary centres, whilst Dundee (29 miles) has plenty of culture with theatres and arts centres.

We really enjoyed our week and it was a great base for hillwalking and cycling . Cottage was cosy and the log burner was great.

We had a great stay. Hosts were welcoming and it was great to be able to have use of their garden for the dogs. Cottage was very clean and tidy and a good place to stay whilst visiting the local area. We had our 3 dogs and made use of the pet sitting service which was greatly appreciated. For dog walking, visit Pitlochry, lots of different walks, aRead morend great view. St Cyrus Beach is well worth a visit. Perfect little cottage, perfectly pleasant hosts, both husband & wife very approachable with nothing too much trouble. Definitely have a drive along the road to purchase fresh meat products from Glenkilrie larder

Beautiful little cottage, very comfortable and well-equipped. The owner is super friendly and helpful. The only downside for me is how close it is to the road, but fortunately the traffic does die down in an evening and it certainly didn't disturb my sleep, but it did make the beautiful sunroom a little less enjoyable due to the traffic noise. This was a lovely break from the city. Welcomed by owner Louise, right from the start we felt relaxed. The cottage is immaculate, with lovely soft furnishings to help you relax, lovely comfy sofas and the bed was awesome. She had thought of every thing in the spacious kitchen. This lovely cottage was just everything we needed for a week's break. It was spotlessly clean and furnished to a really high standard. The owners have been so thoughtful regarding providing all necessities and more. They were friendly and helpful but not intrusive and we felt very welcomed. Situated to get around to many other places easily and cosRead morey to return to and sometimes just sit in the lovely sun room and watch the lambs and squirrels.with a tipple. We stayed here for a few days - the property was spotlessly clean and has been newly decorated and furnished to a high standard. The owners were very friendly and thoughtfully left some items for us and for our dog! They suggested some great local walks (Blackwater reservoir, the Cateran trial) close by that are great for dogs. We used the garden oRead moref the cottage for our dog and the gate can be closed if you want to let your dog off lead. Just wish we could have stayed longer! Hide
