Accommodating up to 16 guests across eight plush bedrooms, this holiday retreat of both US Presidents Bush on the edge of the Caingorm National Park offers a truly luxurious group break in the Highlands. 

This wonderful property is situated in 20 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds on a spectacular Highland Estate. Situated on the edge of the magnificent Cairngorms National Park, it has served as the holiday home to two US presidents. Set in a beautiful secluded spot surrounded by lochs and mountains, this welcoming and elegant lodge makes a wonderful retreat for a family celebration, group reunion or corporate event. With ample space for 16 guests to relax in peace and comfort, the property also offers a full concierge service, chef and Savoy-trained housekeeper. The property is close to Braemar,  Glamis and Balmoral Castles and there are numerous activities to enjoy both on and off the estate, including fishing, shooting, croquet, birdwatching, tennis, clay pigeon shooting and distillery tours. This imposing but welcoming property is built on the site of a 13th-century monastic settlement and offers a range of features including a beautiful ancient garden, revolving summerhouse and hot tub.

This lovely lodge has been beautifully decorated and furnished with antiques throughout, with soft furnishings, comfortable sofas, a splendid dining table, impressive central staircase and family portraits. The spacious living areas and cosy bedrooms are ideally designed to provide maximum comfort during your stay, alongside charming extras such as fluffy towels, electric blankets and power showers.

On entering this charming property you will find the delightful drawing room. This is a lovely space to relax in where you can chat in front of the open fire about the day. Exploring the ground floor further, the dining room provides the perfect backdrop for a special family meal which you can prepare in the large and elegantly designed kitchen. You will also find a cosy tartan library, a utility room and a large drying room.

The first floor features six delightful bedrooms. There are two king-size bedrooms – including two master bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom, plus two King Size rooms and two en-suite zip-and-link twin rooms and a family bathroom.

Finally, heading up to the second floor there are two further bedrooms – a twin and an en-suite zip-and-link twin room.

Stepping outside, you can relax in the gardens with al fresco meals, a BBQ or a glass of wine. Unwind in the private hot tub, play tennis, go on a land rover safari, fishing or shooting, or explore the stunning estate which surrounds the house. A separate two-bedroom cottage can also be booked in conjunction with the main lodge.

Situated 5 miles to the south of the spectacular Cairngorms National Park, this beautiful property is ideally situated for activities including walking, mountain biking, climbing, abseiling, hang gliding and skiing. The popular Glenshee Ski Centre (16 miles) is the largest in the UK, covering 2,000 acres, four mountains and three valleys. Afterwards, you may need to call in at the Persie Distillery (7.5 miles). Other attractions and landmarks include Forter Castle (2.5 miles), the Loch of Lintrathen (8 miles), the Cateran Ecomuseum – a museum without walls (11 miles) or you can try your hand at archery and a range of other pursuits at the Highland Adventure Centre (3.5 miles). Golfers have a choice of numerous courses in the area including those at Strathmore (12.5 miles), Dalmunzie (11 miles), Alyth and Glenisla (both 10 miles). The picturesque village of Bridge of Cally (10 miles) has local shops and a hotel serving excellent food and drink. The nearest main town is Blairgowrie (16 miles) which offers a choice of excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs, supermarkets, independent shops, galleries, leisure facilities and a swimming pool. Lying on the banks of the River Ericht, Blairgowrie is the starting point of the circular 60-mile Cateran Trail, and is the home of the Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games. The Meigle Museum (13.5 miles) hosts a display of Pictish stone carvings dating back over a thousand years.

Lovely house in beautiful setting. Plenty of living space. Well equipped kitchen. We loved the in house cooking from Simon & landrover safari with Craig. The tennis court is not part of lodge garden and summerhouse was locked and full of toys so we found that a bit disappointing. Hot tub great fun Excellent pre travel communication from Simon.
