This fantastic modern cottage sleeps up to six people. Situated in the delightful village of Newlands of Culloden, guests will discover beaches, woods and fun outdoor activities to enjoy nearby.

Just 5 miles outside the city of Inverness, this spacious cottage is tucked away in the community of Newlands, right next to the rugged and wild Culloden Moor. Built in 2010, this new cottage combines traditional influences with a modern twist. Sleeping six guests, this property is perfect for families and friends looking for a Highland break with the cool amenities in Inverness, close by. The Highlands provide something for everyone, both young and old.

This charming cottage has a clean modern style that feels bright and spacious inside. The lounge on the ground floor has been designed with muted tones which create a nice relaxing atmosphere. Soft furnishings, artwork on the walls, a log burner and textural rugs add character to the space without being overbearing. This is the perfect setting for friends or relatives to gather together and unwind. There is a TV and a DVD player for cosy evenings in after a long day of sightseeing. Here there are French doors that lead out onto a private decking area with a set of table and chairs for relaxed sundowners. The kitchen/diner provides a comfortable space for casual dining.  There is a also utility room with washing machine. There is a disability-friendly double bedroom, a separate spacious bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.   

Up on the first floor you will find a king-size bedroom and twin bedroom with cot, shower room with WC and power shower. All rooms have been decorated to the same high standard with gentle neutral tones and wooden furniture. The enclosed garden also has a picnic table and grassy area for children.

Slightly further along (2 miles) from Culloden Viaduct, which is also known as the Nairn Viaduct, is an architectural wonder and definitely worth a visit. Just down the road (approximately 1 mile) from the Viaduct, the Clava Cairns reveals a little of the fascinating history of the area. This well-preserved Bronze-Age burial site comprises a collection of powerful rocks that depict Scottish history dating back around 4,000 years. A visit to Inverness is a must. Not only is it close by, just 5 miles from the property, but here you will find a plethora of things to do and see. There's a whole host of good quality restaurants, bars, cafes to sample. The shopping is great in Inverness too, be sure to visit the famous Victorian Market and look out for the independent gift and craft shops dotted around. Loch Ness (14 miles) is close to Inverness and for obvious reasons a huge tourist attraction. Take a boat trip across the loch and see if you can spot Nessie!
