Situated in the heart of a picturesque 120-acre private estate, this quaint and cosy cottage makes a wonderfully romantic retreat for two. Providing perfect accommodation for a couple seeking a warm and relaxing getaway, this lovely period cottage is set in a charming, secluded spot just outside the popular market town of Crieff. Ideal for exploring the gorgeous Perthshire countryside, this idyllic property is a relaxing bolthole for keen walkers, cyclists, photographers, artists, anglers and nature lovers.

 

Offering a number of period features including a warming original wood burner and a characterful range, this pretty south-facing cottage is set in the grounds of a private estate with chances to spot a variety of wildlife.

 

Stepping into the cottage, the ground floor features a light and spacious dining room and a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing and sharing a romantic meal for two. The bathroom is also on the ground floor.

 

Upstairs, you will find the snug and relaxing lounge: a cosy, light and inviting space with a TV, comfortable seating and a warming wood burner, providing a lovely spot to snuggle up and watch a movie at the end of a great day. The first floor also features the tranquil king-size bedroom which has plenty of storage space and beautiful views.

 

Heading outside, the picturesque garden has a handy seating area with a BBQ, providing a lovely spot for dining alfresco, enjoying a wee dram or stargazing at night. You will also be welcome to follow the established tracks through the grounds and woodlands of the estate, where you will find the Ice House and the Witches’ Bridge. There are chances to spot local wildlife including roe deer, hares and red squirrels, and you can also help feed the chickens and meet the resident tortoise.

The friendly town of Crieff (3.5 miles) is the main town of the ancient Strathearn region of Perthshire and is set on the Knock, a wooded hill separating the Highlands and the Lowlands of Scotland. The town has a fantastic range of welcoming inns, independent shops and great restaurants, along with popular attractions including a golf club, the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre, Glen’s Adventure Park at Action Glen, Eppie Callum’s Oak, Lady Mary’s Walk, the Glenturret Distillery and the famous Crieff Hydro.

The local area has a wide range of attractions including the famous golf course at Gleneagles (10 miles), Ardoch Roman Fort (12 miles), the Library of Innerpeffray – Scotland’s oldest lending library dating from the 17th century (4 miles), Ardunie Roman Signal Station (3 miles), MacRosty Park (4 miles), Cultybraggan Camp 21 (11.5 miles) and the Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre (12 miles).

The northern edge of the magnificent Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is within easy reach (14 miles), offering miles of stunning walks and a wide choice of outdoor activities. Also nearby is the historic city of Perth (15 miles), at one time Scotland’s capital for half a millennium. Situated along the northern bank of the River Tay, Perth has a wonderful variety of art galleries, museums and historic attractions. The city is home to the Fair Maid’s House, St Ninian’s Cathedral, Huntingtower Castle, Perth Concert Hall and Theatre, Perth Museum and Art Gallery and the popular Perth Racecourse.

We had a lovely week in this cottage. The location is perfect as you're in a very tranquil area but within a few minutes drive to Crieff - which catered for all of our needs. A very comfortable cottage and we really enjoyed our second stay there. We slept really well partly to do with the supremely comfortable bed. Really lovely stay in a beautiful character property with a helpful and attentive owner. Our holiday in Coachman's cottage was absolutely lovely. Beautiful views and plenty of places to walk our dog (although on lead because of sheep and farm animals). The cottage layout is unusual - lounge upstairs and four steps up from there to the bedroom. The cottage was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Cottage as described, lovely furnishings and period character, the estate offers both space and privacy. Extremely comfortable bed, and no light pollution at night a big plus. It is a very green and quiet place to unwind, and an excellent base for exploring the area. The free range hens are very friendly!

Lovely location for a quiet break. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The unusual layout took some getting used to, but overall we really enjoyed our stay at Coachmans cottage, especially the bed, which was incredibly comfortable. The nearby town of Crieff has some lovely walks along the river and plenty of dog friendly places to eat and drink.

Lovely cottage with potential. No enclosed garden/patio. Attention to detail could be given, grass cut and furniture ready for guests arriving. More equipment in kitchen including fire extinguisher. Nice area.

We had a lovely week at coachmans cottage. Large one bedroom property. With all the home comforts you need, dishwasher being a positive. Cottage set in peaceful countryside allowing a relaxing rest with plenty fresh air and dog walks. Only a short drive to restaurants, shops. and cafes .

We had an excellent holiday. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with beautiful artwork and furnishings. It is in a peaceful and quiet location in the grounds of a small estate containing the main house and another cottage. Crieff is only ten minutes away by car for all services and facilities. Perfectly quiet and very comfortable cottage. It is homely and has everything you need. The heating is more than adequate including a wood burning stove. A well-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer and modern oven. Other nice features are the very high speed broadband, smart TV and a well-stocked library. What a lovely quiet and comfortable cottage to stay in. We litetally heard nothing outside for the 5 nights we were there. Perfect for us. Our host was very friendly and helpful. She came within 15 minutes when we had a minor issue. The area around Crieff is great for dog walking. Lots of well marked walks that are safe to let your dog off. We had a lovely relaxing and luxurious stay- very comfortable bed with gorgeous linens, very comfy settee too plus loads of room generally to spread out in. Its quite a flat area of Scotland though so be aware if you are looking for a mountain view go further into the Cairngorms!

Excellent home from home, lovely kitchen and bathroom , very good heating and very comfortable beds .Good location too, we visited several villages that were a short drive away. Plenty going on in Crieff also , heads up The Gurkhas is on the high st and in my opinion serves the best curries anywhere
