Just had a wonderful weeks break at what we consider a 5* property which is set in outstanding scenic surroundings. The apartment contained everything needed and with the bonus of a variety of shops only a short drive away. The covered shared courtyard is a big plus especially if the weather is not so good. However we were fortunate to have a dry wRead moreeek and took full advantage of the quality barbecue. We will be returning. Hide

We loved staying in this beautiful cottage. Well equipped with everything you may need. Soft fluffy towels and lovely linens on the bed. Stylishly furnished with a cosy atmosphere in the lounge which is up stairs. The owners are extremely friendly and available if needed but you feel very relaxed and private in the cottage. The grounds are beautifuRead morel and visited by lots of birds including kites. We would definitely stay again. I would say that a car is essential. Cant recommend too highly. Hide

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay, in a peaceful location, and Courtyard Cottage was exactly that. The cottage was beautifully presented, with everything we needed for our stay. The location is wonderfully quiet with amazingly dark skies for star gazing. The town is just a couple of miles due the valley, with a small selection of shopRead mores and a takeaway. Good internet access meant we werent totally cut off. We highly recommend Craigcleuch for a relaxing holiday. Hide

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway.
