Located in the beautiful Badachro Bay,  the Island is a privately owned island, connected to the mainland by a footpath that runs over a floating bridge. The warm Gulf Stream waters that surround the island are teamed with sea life that you might catch a glimpse of during your stay including seals, porpoises, dolphins and more. The private beaches are deserted and untouched inviting you to explore and relax with only the sounds of wildlife and water for company.

Badachro is a pretty little village, once renowned for its successful cod fishing scene, and it sits in a sheltered inlet overlooking the bay. The famous local inn overlooks the jetty and serves fantastic food with views to match. There are a number of glorious beaches around the bay overlooking the water and mountains beyond, perfect for a picnic after dipping those toes!

For those who would like to explore this area of the west coast on foot, there are some fabulous walks around the coastline along with some stunning unspoilt beaches. Red Point (5.5 miles) offers two splendid beaches with dramatic red sand whilst Big Sand Beach (10 miles) offers some magnificent views towards the mountains on Skye, providing the perfect backdrop to some awe-inspiring sunsets.

Cottage is in a lovely location for a very peaceful and stress free break. Would recommend going to Redpoint beach and the 15 minute walk to Faraway beach, both very secluded and beautiful.

The wee hide away house has magnificent views. It was a pleasure to get up in the morning watch the sunrise and the wild life wake from their slumber. Dook n dine the resident cormorants were hilarious to watch. Salty the seal ever present in the early hours of the morning resting on the rocks, at night heard splashing in the water. On clear nightsRead more the sky was ablaze with stars. Walking over the floating bridge was a new experience fabulous when tide was in. Truly relaxing and restorative. Hide
