Charming stone-built cottage situated on a working farm in the beautiful Highlands close to Loch Ness. Perfect for families seeking a peaceful countryside stay, yet within access of various amenities and attractions.

Surrounded by the peaceful and stunning Scottish countryside with views of the majestic mountains, this country retreat is the ideal place for friends and families to relax and enjoy quality time together. With paths and trails on your doorstep, you can explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike. Despite this property’s isolated position, you’re only 7.5 miles from the bustling village of Beauly which is perfect for gentle strolls around the upmarket shops and eateries or some salmon fishing on the banks of the picturesque River Beauly.

This detached house is situated next to a working farm, but offers guests peace and privacy. The owners have blended contemporary fixtures and fittings with original features to create a homely feel throughout where guests will feel comfortable and able to relax.

On the ground floor, the cosy lounge has a wood burner to curl up in front of at the end of a busy day. The kitchen/diner is also cosy with a country-cottage feel to it, but still has all the mod-cons needed to cook up a meal for hungry mouths. Double doors lead out on to a small grassed patio where a picnic table makes for easy al fresco dining. Also on the ground floor is a delightful king-size bedroom with an accessible walk-in shower.

Upstairs, there is a lovely double bedroom and a family bedroom with a king-size bed and a single. There is also a modern en-suite shower room. Soft carpets and thick soft furnishings add to the sense of comfort in all the bedrooms.

Outside, there is an enclosed garden for dogs and children to explore, but outside of the garden, dogs must be kept on a lead due to the animals on the farm. The views of the surrounding countryside are breathtaking.

  • 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 king-size, 1 family room with a king-size and a single bed
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 shower room with hand basin and WC on ground floor, 1 en-suite with walk-in shower, hand basin and WC on first floor
  • Double electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and coffee machine
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Oil central heating
  • Wood burner with starter pack of logs
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • TV and DVD in separate snug area with DVD's, books and games
  • Enclosed garden with garden seating
  • Dogs must be kept on leads outside the enclosed garden due to roaming sheep
  • Shops and restaurants 6 miles
  • Private parking on shared driveway
  • Please note - Children are not to play in the outbuildings on the farm
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

As well as being a pleasant village to wander around, Beauly is also a popular base for outdoor enthusiasts with some stunning glens and mountains close by. For example, Glen Affric (26 miles) is a magical place to visit with its stunning lochs, intriguing forests, barren moorland and interesting wildlife. There are plenty of walking and cycling paths/trails on your doorstep, and for keen walkers and Munro-baggers, there are several more challenging routes and summits in the area, including the 16-mile Glen Strathfarrar Munros Circuit (22 miles).

If you fancy a touch of myth-busting, head to nearby Loch Ness (13 miles) to try and catch a glimpse of Scotland’s famous monster; failing that, there are plenty of picturesque walks around the spectacular loch.

If you fancy something less rural and more cosmopolitan, head 15 miles north to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. It has all the benefits of a city, but with a more relaxed approach to life. It is popular with visitors because it blends history with contemporary living. You can visit the cathedral, castle and market before exploring the stylish, independent shops, eateries and bars within its compact city centre. Inverness sits on the bank of the Moray Firth which is home to Europe’s biggest pods of bottlenose dolphins.

Home away from home! As soon as we walked through the door the whole cottage felt warm and inviting. We loved our stay at Crofters cottage from the welcome flowers, chocolates and wine, it had all the amenities you would get at home and more. The views and the quiet were amazing and in a wonderful location to explore the highlands.

Amazing cottage, perfect for our group of six (4 adults and two children) and small dog. Location is perfect for exploring the Highlands and at the same time being close to a city (Inverness).
