This charming cottage for two is close to the stunning Moray coastline. Its remote location offers guests the chance to get away from it all for a romantic retreat in this beautiful, peaceful corner of Scotland. With its rugged coastline and idyllic, picturesque beaches, there are plenty of walking opportunities as well as a range of other outdoor activities to choose from. The Moray Firth is one of the best places in Europe to see dolphins in the wild; a boat-ride out to sea may also provide sightings of some species of whales. The neighbouring pine forests, rivers and lochs are also rich with wildlife, so you may be lucky enough to see otters, ospreys and pine martens. Despite the secluded and tranquil position of the property, you are only 6.5 miles from the shops and eateries in Elgin and other small villages and towns. You will also find spectacular beaches such as Findhorn and Lossiemouth close by.

This stylish, one-storey cottage has been lovingly decorated using a range of contemporary patterns, colours, furniture and artwork that blend seamlessly with original features such as the exposed stone wall. The open-plan living area is modern, yet cosy, with a wood burner at one end. The kitchen is well-equipped to allow you to cook a romantic meal for two and the super king-size bedroom is light and airy with double doors leading out to the garden. A good-sized contemporary shower room completes the accommodation.

There is plenty of space outside including an attractive and welcoming garden with far-reaching views.

Although remote, there is lots to explore in this area of Scotland. Firstly, it is famous for its whisky, so follow the Malt Whisky Trail which takes you to many distilleries in Speyside where you can sample the different types of whisky made in the region. The town of Elgin (6.5 miles) is home to some of these distilleries but is also a delightful town with lots to see including the ruins of its cathedral. Other towns/villages nearby include Forres (6 miles) where you can climb Cluny Hill and Nelson's Tower for far-reaching views of the countryside. On the coast, the eco-village of Findhorn (6.5 miles) with its beach, harbour and heritage centre is popular, as is golf-orientated resort Lossiemouth (12 miles) with its two beaches, boat rides, angling and dolphin spotting. Burghead is another popular resort, which is surrounded by water on three sides (6 miles). To really experience the many features this coast has to offer, join the 50-mile long Moray Coast Trail which goes from Cullen to Findhorn. For guests who prefer to be on two wheels, there are plenty of mountain bike trails in the area to suit all abilities. If you don't mind the drive, you could also visit Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, for the day (32 miles), with its bustling town centre, historic buildings and shops and eateries.
