Historic lodge set in the wonderful highland countryside situated on the outskirts of the picturesque Highland village of Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness

An excellent base for a Highland holiday, this historic Category B-listed building sleeps ten guests and two four-pawed pals across five bedrooms, perfect for a large family or group of friends. With interiors that really capture the imagination, period features blend with contemporary touches, creating character in abundance, and the two lounges let teens and adults both grab a moment of peace and solitude after a busy day together. With beautiful views, walks from the door, and Inverness and all its amenities close by, there is something for everyone.

Traditional and elegant, the many original elements such as the open fireplace, exposed beams and wooden panelling are beautifully complemented by period furniture and floral-motif textiles. Pale walls are dotted with colourful artwork in the lounge, with large windows making it bright during the day, but once the open fire is lit, the cosy amber ambience is perfect for an evening of rest and relaxation.

Discard your outdoor gear in the hall before stepping into this stylish home. Cook up a storm in the charming kitchen/diner where large windows and cream fittings create a spacious and bright setting. Enjoy quick bites at the table or more formal meals in the dining room, where doors lead out to the terrace allowing for lovely views over the glen. The two lounges still retain many of the original characters that made this a classic Scottish home from centuries ago. Both boast TVs and, with a wood burner in one and an open fire in the other, there are plenty of places for your kids to warm their toes and your pup to enjoy a snooze.

The five, wood-panelled, double bedrooms boast lovely crisp linens and fine antique and vintage pieces, making a welcoming refuge at the end of your day. Two bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill shower room, whilst another has an adjoining nursery, great for families with young children. The bathrooms retain the same character, with the baths perfect for a long soak.

Outside, the front facing terrace is ideal for maximising the outstanding views, and perfect for indulging in a spot of al fresco dining. Watch the sun come up with a morning coffee and, in the evening, recline with a wee dram to gaze at the starry night sky. Surrounded by trees, children and dogs will love exploring the lawned garden. There is ample private parking and the village is 2 miles away.

Fantastic holiday, the house is very comfortable and the location is beautiful. We loved the studio room and spending time in the garden. Great walks from the lodge and was an excellent base fir Loch Ness, The Black Isles and Skye. Would love to come back again.

A wonderful Lodge full of charm and character. You can feel the history oozing from the walls and surroundings. Feels like a home not a holiday let which is always a bonus. Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Location and surroundings amazing with views to die for. Brian the caretaker could not have been more friendly and helpful.

On the whole, this was a wonderful property to spend a holiday in, the location spectacular and the character of the house highly original. There were just a few things that could easily be improved for a better value for money rating. We had problems accessing WiFi in the bedrooms, despite the two different possible connections.
