This contemporary, studio-style lodge has plenty of character and is located in Corriegills in the east of the Isle of Arran. Surrounded by countryside and overlooking the Firth of Clyde it’s an area of stunning natural beauty and provides an excellent base for a couple or solo traveller wanting to explore the landscape.

This pod-shaped lodge is compact but has all the modern comforts you could ask for including a Smart TV, sound system, and voice control mood lighting. The interiors are simple and cool with whitewashed walls and wood-panelled flooring creating a wonderful sense of tranquillity.

After a day exploring, sink into the comfortable sofa, unwind with your favourite film on the TV or simply gaze through the large French doors and windows at the glorious scenery. There’s also a flame-effect fireplace to keep things cosy on winter nights. But when the sun is shining you’ll want to open the French doors and let the sea air breeze in. When it’s time to eat, rustle up a meal in the kitchen with its state-of-the-art appliances and then serve it at the casual breakfast bar. At bedtime, retire to the king-size bed and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the sea in the distance. Next to the bedroom, there’s also a neat bathroom.

Outside the setting could not be more idyllic. Enjoy a morning coffee on the decked area or sit in the garden and watch the sunrise over the sea. Alternatively, while away the hours simply gazing at the majestic view. Come evening, light the fire pit and enjoy a romantic meal under the stars. Although the property is set in a rural location, it’s only 1.5 miles to Brodick with its shops, restaurants, and cafes.

The Isle of Arran is famed for its impressive landscape and walking trails can be enjoyed straight from your doorstep including The Arran Coastal Way. This 65-mile circular route around the island is a popular trail and offers stunning scenery and wildlife. For a more leisurely walk in nature, pick up the trail at Brodick and enjoy the 5-mile hike to Lamlash. Along the way, stop and soak up views of Holy Isle - you may even spot otters in the water.

At Lamlash, relax on the pretty beach or enjoy a swim in the calm waters. For adrenalin-fuelled adventure you can even try your hand at kayaking or paragliding.

Back in Brodick, history lovers can discover the Victorian estate, Brodick Castle, packed with treasures including period furniture, silverware, and paintings. Afterwards, be sure to stroll through the castle’s pretty gardens with its views over Brodick Bay. From here the more adventurous can climb Goatfell, Arran’s highest peak. It’s a challenging climb but at the summit you’ll be rewarded with sweeping mountain views and perhaps even golden eagles wheeling overhead.
