This stylish single-storey home has three bedrooms and has been thoughtfully designed with groups in mind, with plenty of space to socialise together. The bonnie surrounding views are visible from both the lounge and bedrooms, and a handy garden is ideal for soaking up the Scottish countryside

Enter this single-storey home through the handy porch where you can hang up your coats and towels, and place your boots. From here, head into the kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with all the amenities you need and ample surface space. Cook up a storm for all guests and enjoy eating together at the dining table which folds away to create more room. For a comfortable evening in, take a seat in the lounge, warm up in front of the wood burner, and watch your favourite movie or shows on the TV. At bedtime, head down the hall to one of the three bedrooms. Choose from two double rooms, one of which has a handy en-suite bathroom, a light and bright single bedroom, and a family bathroom.

Outside is the real jewel in this property’s crown. The wraparound garden is spacious and fully enclosed. It has a lawn space, great for lawn games, and a patio area which is ideal for al fresco dining or an evening tipple amongst nature.

Situated 4 miles from the lovely village of Laggan, a peaceful spot which was featured as a fictional village in the TV series Monarch of the Glen, you will find a shop and cafe here. It is also a great starting point for many walking and cycling routes. Enjoy a hike to Dun Da Lamh, a ruined fort, built on a knoll in a ridge.

Stroll along the River Spey or access the lower and higher Falls of Pattach along the waymarked trail from Gallovie Farm (6 miles). From the property, you can also walk to the double-arched Garva Bridge 0.5 miles away or up the Munro, Creag Meagaidh. Other challenging and interesting hikes nearby include Chno Dearg (18 miles) and Ben Alder (17 miles).

For keen cyclists, the Laggan Wolftrax Mountain Biking Trail Centre is just 7 miles away, a purpose-built mountain bike centre with over 20 miles of trails of varying abilities. Enjoy the freshwater Loch Laggan (4 miles), not only great for trout and pike fishing but also has its own sandy beach to enjoy.

For further amenities such as shops and places to eat, head to Newtonmore (12 miles) which has a couple of cafes and eateries as well as a handy supermarket. Great family days out can be had at the Highland Wildlife Park (20 miles), a large safari park and zoo. Or visit Dalwhinnie Distillery (12 miles) for whisky tours and tasting experiences.

Get stuck into fabulous mountain life at Aviemore (25 miles) where you can enjoy snow sports in the winter or climbing and biking in the summer.

This cottage is one of the best we have ever stayed in.. It is very well equipped . Location if you want peace and quiet is just perfect.. Everything in the cottage was very clean and in excellent condition.

It is a lovely cottage in an incredibly beautiful location. We loved being there and have nowhere near exhausted all of the places to explore in the area. Thoroughly recommend this place.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time in Scotlands highlands and Dorran cottage offered us comfort, the beauty of the land and mountains surrounding the cottage, adorable little lambs to laugh over at their antics and just gave both of us the peace we had been looking forward to.

We had a wonderful few days at Dorran Cottage. The whole cottage was immaculate, warm and welcoming (and the great welcome pack a real treat too, especially the pancakes). The setting is so peaceful and ideally placed to get out and about or just to stay in and relax. A highlight for us was all the wonderful wildlife and to be so close to so many mRead moreountain hares was a tick off my personal bucket list! A really nice refurbished well equipped and comfortable cottage in beautiful quiet surroundings with some walks from the door. Super clean. Space is a little tight in the kitchen to seat 5, but the bedrooms are great. Good Wifi and TV with enough seating. Plenty of parking.

A beautiful 4 night break away in this tranquil Highland cottage. Amazing host, amazing property and amazing scenery. Cottage was so well equipped, like a home from home. Just wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely back!

We had a fantastic stay at Dorran cottage, it was warm and welcoming with some little touches for arrival. It was very comfortable and on a few chilly May evenings, we enjoyed the log burner! Great instructions from the owners prior to arrival. The house is really lovely and incredibly homely. Its well equipped especially the kitchen as everything was clean and/or brand new.
