Experience Scottish country life in this charming property, set on an historic clan estate in Easter Ross surrounded by picture-postcard Highland scenery

Set on a beautiful estate in glorious countryside, this delightful rambling property makes a wonderful holiday retreat for a large family or group of friends looking for an idyllic spot just a few miles to the north of Inverness. Brahan Estate is the historic home of the chiefs of the Clan MacKenzie, and offers 4,000 acres of stunning woodland and lochs, with the River Conon winding through the landscape. The estate is home to roe deer, ospreys, badgers and pine martens and has a red kite feeding station. An exciting range of outdoor pursuits can be arranged including clay pigeon and target shooting, canoeing, abseiling, archery and photographic safaris. For larger groups, there are three other properties nearby, providing accommodation for up to 18 further guests.

This light, cosy and welcoming cottage has been delightfully furnished and decorated in soothing tones to help make it a warm and peaceful getaway. You can admire the garden view from the lovely bay window in the lounge, or relax in front of the wood burner with a book or movie in the cosy snug. The bright and open dining room offers stunning rural views and also features a piano. The bedrooms all benefit from lovely soft bedding and pretty curtain fabric.

On entering this cheerful and inviting property you will find the spacious lounge where you can relax, admire the views, catch up with your favourite TV show and chat about the day’s events. The separate snug features a piano and a selection of books and games to peruse. You can gather together in the light and welcoming dining room to enjoy both formal and informal meals, which you can prepare in the fully-equipped and stylishly designed kitchen. The ground floor also offers a cosy twin bedroom, as well as a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC, boot room and utility room.

Going upstairs to the first floor, there are four more bedrooms: one king, one double and two twins. There are en-suite facilities for the king and double, as well as an additional family bathroom.

The second floor comprises an attic bedroom with twin beds and makes an ideal space for teenagers. There’s also an adjacent shower room.

Stepping outside you can enjoy a drink or al fresco meal in the large enclosed garden. Exploring the grounds further you can make your way through overgrown gardens and along delightful woodland footpaths, lochs and ponds abundant with birdlife. A spacious old farm house with superb views in a good location for the Black Isle and Rossshire. Support when needed was quick and helpful. However, the attic bedroom is too cold to be useable in comfort in the winter and the downstairs bedroom was only barely warm enough so its a 5 bedroom property at most in those conditions. Some of the equipmenRead moret is rather old (hob, washing machine, the various freezers) and there was no tumble dryer. Hide
