This neat, studio-style lodge set in tranquil Corriegills, on the Isle of Arran, is a cavernous space. Overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the property is surrounded by countryside and offers peace and tranquillity. With hiking trails on the doorstep, it’s a great base for couples or solo travellers wanting to explore the landscape.

Sleek in design, the interior is modern and inviting with a huge glass door drenching the whole area in natural, uplifting light.

Cheerful tones and a natural finish create a pleasing atmosphere while there’s enough living space for two people to cosy up on the sofa in front of the TV. Or if you prefer, stream your favourite music through the sound system and adjust the mood lighting with your voice. When mealtime beckons, the neat kitchen has all the modern appliances you’ll need to whip up a bite to eat. Serve intimate meals at the small breakfast bar or push open the French doors and enjoy a romantic meal in the garden.

Afterwards, retire to the bedroom, located at the rear of the property, and from the comfort of your king-size bed, watch the sunset over the sea. A separate bathroom is located next to the bedroom.

Outside, relax in the delightful garden and feel at peace as you absorb the tranquil, natural surroundings. And when the day slowly fades to night, you can light the fire pit and watch as the stars light up the sky.

Surrounded by countryside, Corriegills is a peaceful area but also allows you to take advantage of all the amenities at Brodick, 1.5 miles away. The surrounding sloping hillside offers plenty of walking trails straight from your door while the nearby sandy beaches are clean and uncrowded. Lamlash Beach (3.5 miles) is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a swim in the sea but if you’re feeling more energetic you can try your hand at kayaking or canoeing. Afterwards, brush off the sand and head to Lamlash village where you’ll find a good selection of pubs, bistros, and restaurants.

Just north of Brodick, in Rosaburn (2 miles) learn more about the island at the Arran Heritage Museum, or travel 12 miles across the island and discover the Machrie Standing Stones dating back to prehistoric times.

Other attractions worth a visit include Brodick Castle, a Victorian estate packed with treasures, and Brodick Garden and Country Park. The park is a delightful space and brims with woodland trails, wildlife ponds, waterfalls and glorious views over Brodick Bay. From here, the more adventurous can climb Goatfell, Arran’s highest peak. Although it’s a steep climb, it’s worth the effort as at the summit you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of the coast and Holy Isle.
