The West Wing of a traditional Scottish Castle which offers luxury with a contemporary twist. Set on a 400-acre estate with woods, burns and a deer park to explore.
Fasque Castle was the family home of the Gladstones from 1829, whose most famous son was William Gladstone, one of the Prime Ministers to serve under Queen Victoria. The estate is absolutely stunning whatever the season, with woods, streams and paths to explore. It is a haven for wildlife, home to otters, eagles, red squirrels, deer and woodpeckers. Located between the Eastern coastline and the Cairngorms National Park both within 30 miles. The historic village of Fettercairn is just over a mile away and has some lovely independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
As you enter the West Wing of Fasque Castle, the grandeur and style of this magnificent castle will take your breath away. The high ceilings and panelled walls in the hallway remind you of its history. The ground floor offers your party a lounge known as the Morning Room; this room has views over the grounds with an open fire and offers a fabulous setting to gather with family or friends. The billiard room has a full-size snooker table, comfy seating and TV, and a hidden bar that you can stock and enjoy during your stay. Next door is the kitchen, every room in the castle has been individually styled and the kitchen is no different. The bespoke cabinets are eye catching and the kitchen is well-equipped with an electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also informal dining in the kitchen for eight. There are French doors that open onto the terrace which offers a stunning setting for al fresco dining on a summer’s morning. There is a separate WC on the ground floor and a useful study. Head up the staircase to the first floor and you will find a contemporary bathroom, with slate flooring, free-standing clawfoot bath which stands proud in the middle of the room with a large hydro shower and a WC. There are four beautifully designed bedrooms in the West Wing, all of which are unique and luxurious. There is a king-size four poster with an en-suite shower room with WC, two twin zip-and-link rooms (which can be made into two super-king-size beds on request) with an en-suite bathroom with a shower over free-standing copper bath and WC, and finally a super-king-size room. You will find the toilet in the turret. All the bedrooms feature a mini fridge, Espresso coffee machine and Sonos sound systems.
