This luxurious property is perfect for a romantic retreat with splendid countryside views. Relax and unwind in your private wood-fired hot tub or enjoy cosy nights in front of the roaring wood burner.

Situated amidst a friendly, family-run farm in the Perthshire countryside, close to the quaint village of Abernyte (0.5 miles), this charming luxury apartment is a wonderful hideaway for a couple on a romantic week in rural Scotland. From the hot tub under the stars to the thoughtful welcome hamper full of Scottish treats, it’s an idyllic property. Your dogs (up to two) are also welcome to join you on your five-star stay.

The apartment is on the ground floor (above a lower apartment), single-storey, and largely open-plan. Spacious, bright, and elegantly furnished, it features beautiful details for a unique and special stay, such as a free-standing bath and a Juliet balcony in the bedroom.

Enter the apartment immediately into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. To the right is the kitchen, where you can put dinner on straight away and sit at the island with drinks and nibbles to toast to another fantastic day. Light the wood burner and play music through the Bluetooth docking station for a romantic atmosphere. Serve dinner with a bottle from the wine cooler, and tuck into your meal while looking out to views of the Sidlaw Hills. Afterwards, you can either curl up on the sofa or watch the Smart TV from the comfort of the duvet on the super king-size bed. In the spacious Jack and Jill en-suite bathroom, you can start your morning with a calming bath or feel energised under the rainfall shower.

Change into your bathrobes and slippers (both provided) and head outside to stargaze as you soak in your private hot tub. The patio at the front of the property has seating, so you can sit in the sunshine with a drink of choice, or light the BBQ for an al fresco dinner. You’re welcome to walk around the farm as well and able feed the chickens.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The pretty woodland walk around Northballo Hill and Laird’s Loch (4.5 miles) is just one of the trails in the surrounding area. If you’re about to head out to see the local sights and your dog can’t join you on your next trip, book them into the dog daycare where they can also benefit from grooming and spa services.

While away a leisurely morning at the Scottish Antiques & Arts Centre, conveniently located less than half a mile away from the property. Browse their extensive collection, where you’ll find yourself tempted by all manner of beautiful and curious objects, before settling into a table at their cafe. Serving breakfast and lunch every day of the week, it’s a handy place to head for when you want a light meal out.

Local attractions range from majestic palaces to intimate gardens. At Scone Palace (13 miles) you can spend an entire day discovering all corners of the grand estate. Take a tour of the palace, stroll through the gardens and even get lost in the marvellous star-shaped maze. Branklyn Garden (14 miles) is comparatively tiny, but its 2 acres contain rare and unusual plants. Originally created in the 1920s, it’s now a magical setting for a romantic afternoon, finished with tea and cake in the cafe.

For a day in the city, perhaps for a shopping trip or major visitor attraction, such as the Dundee V&A Museum, both the port city of Dundee (9.5 miles) and the ancient Scottish capital of Perth (16 miles) are within driving distance.

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway. Whether it’s a dog-friendly countryside cottage for two, or a vast and resplendent castle for the entire clan on a tranquil island, we have a holiday in Scotland to suit everyone.
