The original Gardener's Cottage has been refurbished and extended to offer a fabulous space for a family gathering, it has a pretty private garden area overlooking the open fields.

Enjoy a stay at the historic Fasque Castle, hanging your hat in a lovingly converted cottage on the estate of the property. Whether you’re traveling with friends or getting the family together, this unique property happily sleeps eight guests and your two beloved canine companions. Enjoy close proximity to some of Scotland’s most popular attractions, including the Cairngorms National Park and Scotland’s vibrant east coast.

Previously acting as lodgings for the estate’s gardener, this pretty property has been stylishly updated with a contemporary style and welcoming decor. An earthy, neutral colour scheme sits alongside unique tartan accents, creating an entirely Scottish stay. Whilst appearing small from the outside, the cottage is deceivingly spacious and boasts more than enough space for each and every member of your party to fully unwind.

Step inside and head straight into the open-plan living area, which puts lounge, kitchen and diner together in one sociable space. Let the Sonos music system fill the room with sound as you prepare dishes together or enjoy celebratory meals at the vast dining table. The kitchen has an impressive floor to ceiling picture window with French doors leading out to the patio, proudly offering an unforgettable view of the surrounding countryside. Once meals have been enjoyed and the dishwasher’s been stacked, retire to the cosy lounge to make full use of the Smart TV or simply sit together and enjoy a wee dram by the wood burner. Four guests won’t have far to go when it’s time for bed, finding two spacious master bedrooms right here on the ground floor.

For those who are happy to take the stairs, two more delightful bedrooms can be found on floor one. One twin and one double room can be found nestled under the eaves of the property, lovingly decorated with pastel colours and tartan decor throughout. Both bedrooms offer stunning views into the garden- a treat to wake up to each and every morning.

Step out into the garden via the kitchen and soak up your own private space in the Scottish countryside. Overlooking rolling fields that sink into the distance, this generous lawn offers more than enough space for entertaining alfresco. Fling open the French doors to let the outside in, giving younger guests free roam of the children’s play area with slide and swing. Further afield, the estate boasts plenty of wild woodland and resident deer, perfect for enjoying long walks without veering too far from home.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 4 bedrooms – 2 king-size, 1 twin and 1 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request)
  • 2 bathrooms and 1 en-suite shower room
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, Espresso coffee machine and dishwasher
  • Utility room with washing machine and tumble dyer
  • Electric, central and underfloor (ground floor) heating included
  • Open fire (first basket of logs included)
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Private parking for up to 4 cars
  • 2 dogs welcome
  • Pub and shop 2 miles
  • Smart TV, soundbar and Sono Music system in the lounge

Keen walkers will be in their element here with plenty of lovely paths to follow from the doorstep, which take you past a pretty private chapel and woodland and you might spot the resident deer living on the estate. Meander around Fettercairn (1.5 miles) which is steeped in history, before heading to the Caledonian Railway (12.5 miles) where you can enjoy a ride on a heritage steam train. This is a great base for exploring the coast as well, with the stunning beaches of St Cyrus (13 miles) and Lunan (19.5 miles) both perfect for a day trip.

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway. Whether it’s a dog-friendly countryside cottage for two, or a vast and resplendent castle for the entire clan on a tranquil island, we have a holiday in Scotland to suit everyone.
