A true wilderness paradise, this stunning family home sits within a breathtaking Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the picturesque village of the Bridge of Cally. Lovingly pieced together with huge attention to detail and enormous windows to maximise the soothing natural light and incredible views, it is one of those places you will never want to leave. Make the most of the peaceful tranquillity as well as the easy access to local facilities and treat yourself to the holiday of a lifetime in Scotland’s Perth and Kinross.

A woodland delight on the outside and a luxurious haven on the inside, this family-sized woodland hideaway is perfect for those looking exploration and luxuriation in equal measure. Spacious enough to offer privacy yet still warm and inviting, there is plenty of room for up to ten people and three lucky dogs to make themselves at home. Tinkle the ivories on the grand piano, shift your focus from the incredible views to the tasteful décor and back again and let each member of your party just relax.

The true heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is located on the ground floor and is perfect for relaxing, dining and socialising. Bathed in natural light, it is an ideal space for families to gather to make some really special memories in beautiful surroundings. Stunning whatever the weather, the backdrop outside of fabulous woodland provides a feast for the eye both during warm summers and during the frosted depths of winter. Across the hall, you will find the property’s first bedroom (a king-size with seating area and garden access) and a stylish shower room.

To find the rest of the beautiful bedrooms, take the stylish staircase to the first floor. Here, a master bedroom beckons with a super-king-size bed (that can be changed into a twin upon request), an additional double sofa bed, a Juliet balcony with woodland views, a dressing room and, for even more luxury, an en-suite shower room. Next is the spacious king-size bedroom (also with an en-suite shower room and a Juliet balcony), and finally a further king-size bedroom with an en-suite complete with freestanding bath for dreamy bubble-topped soaks as well as a separate shower.

A sanctuary for children, grown-ups and your canine companions, the superb garden is the real cherry on the cake. Surrounded by enchanting woodland, the property also benefits from an enclosed garden so the whole family can enjoy playtime together, worry-free. Sprawl out on the lawn with blankets and books or get ready for the ultimate game of hide and seek. Later, when you’re ready to regroup and refuel, light up the gas BBQ and gather around the outdoor seating for a sizzling sundowner.

Overlooking the River Ardle and benefiting from easy access to the awe-inspiring Cairngorms National Park, this woodland retreat is perfectly suited to those with a taste for adventure. Needless to say, you won't have to go very far for long, meandering walks or fast-paced hikes, but you can also venture further afield if you wish.

Try your hand at a number of country pursuits; activities such as walking, kayaking, cycling, paragliding and photography are just some of the things you can do nearby. Of course, if you are looking for something completely different, the excellent Glenshee ski centre, the largest ski resort in Scotland is only 19 miles away.

If you have had enough adrenaline for one day, the pretty towns of Blairgowrie (6 miles), Pitlochry (19 miles) and Dunkled (18 miles) all offer a gentler pace and a quaint way to pass an afternoon. If you have time, you should visit the Cateran Ecomuseum too: a new cultural destination designed to share the story of Tay Country's people, places and landscapes.

For an increase in pace, the city of Dundee is 24.5 miles away and Perth is 22.5 miles, both offering a plethora of restaurants, bars and attractions. For a great day out with the dog near Perth, pop the Scone Palace on your list – the place where Kings of Scotland were crowned and one of Scotland's most important stately homes.

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway. Whether it’s a dog-friendly countryside cottage for two, or a vast and resplendent castle for the entire clan on a tranquil island, we have a holiday in Scotland to suit everyone.
