Gorgeous, traditional, stone-built cottage set in the midst of the spectacular Argyll countryside, perfect as a romantic retreat for two.

This charming cottage tucked away at the end of a farm track is the perfect place for couples to get away from it all and enjoy a romantic, rural retreat. With Ben Cruachan as its backdrop, the views from this property are outstanding and showcase the best of the Scottish countryside. And with majestic mountains, sparkling lochs, forests and beaches nearby, outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice as walking, horse-riding, cycling, fishing, sailing and kayaking are all on offer.

Situated on a working farm in a secluded position, this delightful semi-detached property has been lovingly decorated to create a comfortable space for its guests. Contemporary grey tones and classic modern furniture blend effortlessly with exposed stone walls to create a light and airy home with touches of character.

As you enter this single-storey property, you can discard coats and boots in the hallway with its convenient storage. From here, you can access the cosy lounge with its comfy sofas and wood burner – the perfect place to snuggle up of an evening. One of the sofas is even a double sofa bed (available on request), allowing the property to sleep up to four guests. There is also a dining table and chairs in the lounge. The galley-kitchen has a country-cottage style with wooden floors and worktops adding character. Moving along the corridor, you will find the bright and spacious bathroom with its walk-in shower and then the light and elegant king-size bedroom. Most of the rooms have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Outside, there is a private enclosed garden with furniture, where you can immerse yourself in the tranquillity with a morning coffee or evening tipple. There is also shared access to an extended garden and grounds. Please be aware that outside of the garden, dogs must be kept on a lead because of the working farm.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Despite the remote location of this property, the large village of Taynuilt is only 2 miles away and has a shop, tearoom, hotel and golf course.

A little further away is the seaside town of Oban (13 miles) which is considered to be the seafood capital of Scotland. Its stunning coastline contrasts beautifully with the surrounding countryside. From here, you can take day trips to the three nearby islands including Mull. The compact town centre boasts a wealth of museums, galleries, shops and eateries.

One trip from Oban allows you to explore Loch Etive which is just north of the property. If you’re lucky, you will not only be able to appreciate the stunning scenery, but you’ll also see seal colonies and sea eagles.

Guests at this property can enjoy free access to the beautiful 9-acre Angus’s Garden (part of Scotland’s Garden Scheme) which is less than a mile away. This magical and unspoilt garden is ideal for all the family with marked pathways leading around its glorious loch and surrounded by a collection of rhododendrons, trees and shrubs.

For history, combine a boat trip to Mull with a visit to Duart Castle (27 miles including boat ride) or in the opposite direction, head to Kilchurn Castle (13 miles).

There are plenty of walking paths/trails on your doorstep, but Munro-baggers will be pleased to know that the magnificent Ben Cruachan is only 14.5 miles away.

We were both absolutely gob smacked how lovely and remote the property was and the pictures do not do it justice. Both with excellent views of the surrounding mountains and the really nice nearby pubs We were looked after very well and would love to go back sometime in the near future.

A truly wonderful, cosy and immaculate cottage in a stunning, peaceful location, around 1.3 miles along a farm track, with Taynuilt only a couple of miles away for all the essentials. Sean could not have been more helpful, providing excellent directions and was available to help with any questions. The logs for the stove and the cake in the welcomeRead more pack were much appreciated! It was a superb base to explore this area of incredible beauty and I hope to be back. Hide

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.
