Your countryside cottage is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with walks and wildlife straight from the doorstep. Join the Fife Coastal Path at Newburgh (3 miles), a 78-mile route leading through quaint fishing villages and stunning nature reserves. Enjoy riverside walks along the banks of the River Tay or pull on your walking boots for a hike through the Ochil Hills.

Newburgh (3 miles) is a picturesque coastal town with independent stores, friendly pubs and a choice of restaurants and cafes. Discover the remains of Macduff's Cross where the clan Macduff was granted sanctuary for their actions against Macbeth. Learn about the secrets of whisky making on a tour of Lindornes Abbey Distillery and sample some of the Aqua Vitae.

Spend the day exploring the waterfront town of Perth. Browse the boutiques and galleries that are dotted throughout the town or for the bigger high street names head to St John's Shopping Centre. Follow the sculpture trail to see interesting installations and the main sights of the town, including Victorian terraces and the 12th century kirk. Stroll along the banks of the River Tay or for a different view of the town hop onboard a pleasure cruise for a serene sail along the river.

Further afield, wander the winding streets of historic St Andrews (20 miles) seeking out the atmospheric ruins of the castle and cathedral. Visit the British Golf Museum or spend time on one of the many golf courses surrounding the town. Discover the city of Dundee (18 miles) with its cosmopolitan waterfront where you fill find the V&A Dundee, as well as cocktail bars and award-winning restaurants. Further afield, the cities of Edinburgh (43 miles) and Glasgow (60 miles) are within easy reach for a day of exploration.

Hot Toddy Hideaway is a little gem and suited us down to the ground, we had such a lovely quiet and relaxing time here but there is plenty to do if you want it. We went for walks on the beautiful beaches near by and day trips to St Andrews and Perth, the icing on the cake was relaxing in the hot tub on an evening after tea. Wow! What an amazing holiday cottage! Myself and my husband stayed for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! The window seat was stunning and the hot tub and sauna were great! Sorry to say that we feel this property is way overpriced. Its overlooked, smells strongly of oil & the sauna door wasnt fitted properly which meant there was no point in using it. To say this is 5 stars IS a stretch as there wasnt any basic cooking condiments such as oil, milk etc. Location is good & it was very clean but unfortunately we were lefRead moret feeling disappointed & that we had overpaid for this house.
