Charming traditional period house nestled in a peaceful, private setting benefitting from splendid panoramic views over the town and Perthshire hills, within walking distance to all local amenities.

This exquisite, traditional farmhouse near the picturesque town of Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands is an ideal property for friends or families looking to spend quality time together in beautiful surroundings. With its spectacular panoramic views of the nearby mountains and glens, you will feel a world away from your usual pace of life. Whatever the season, you will be able to immerse yourself in the stunning scenery by walking, climbing, canoeing or any other outdoor activity you fancy. Alternatively, you may just want to observe and photograph the wonderful flora and fauna. Despite the secluded location of this property, the bustling town of Pitlochry is only 2 miles away with a wide array of shops, eateries and amenities on offer. You are also less than a mile from Edradour Distillery, one of the smallest, prettiest and unique distilleries in Scotland, and a circular walk from here takes in the beautiful Black Spout Waterfall (3 miles).

This property has been stylishly decorated throughout with light walls, wooden highlights and muted tones to create a contemporary sophistication and elegance in every room, whilst still maintaining a sense of the property’s history. Sumptuous soft furnishings and quirky fixtures and fittings add touches of luxury here and there. On entering, you will find yourself in the hallway, which is the ideal place for discarding wet coats and boots. From here, you can move into the fabulous lounge with its wood burner – perfect for chilly Scottish evenings. The snug is also off the lounge with its X-box, games and double sofa-bed. At the end of the hall, you will find the spacious dining hall, which has yet another wood burner and plenty of seating for everyone to socialise. It is also home to an American-style fridge/freezer with water, ice and coffee machine. Adjoining the dining room is the modest, but well-equipped, galley kitchen.

Upstairs, there are three big, gorgeous bedrooms, all presented immaculately to create a relaxing space to retire to at the end of a busy day. There is: a king-size master with dressing room and en-suite shower room; a delightful twin room with Jack-and-Jill en-suite shower room; and a king-size room with bunk beds to suit a family and this one also has access to the shower room.

Outside, there is a large garden to explore including a fire pit and seating where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening dram of whisky. There is direct access on to the path to Pitlochry and ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin and 1 king-size with additional bunk beds
  • 1 en-suite shower room, 1 en-suite Jack and Jill shower room (that can be accessed by the twin and king-size bedroom) and 1 separate WC

  • 2 dogs welcome
  • Shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance

Whatever the season, this property is ideally located to enjoy some of the most magnificent scenery that Scotland has to offer. Loch Tummel (13 miles west) for instance, is one of the most beautiful parts of Perthshire's 'Big Tree Country' and the seasonal changes are simply stunning. From the visitor centre at Loch Tummel, paths and cycleways take you up to one of Scotland's most famous viewpoints, Queen's View, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the breathtaking landscape. Munro-baggers will be pleased to know that Ben Vrackie is only 6.5 miles north, near Killiecrankie, which is at the southern tip of the Cairngorms National Park; it's a beautiful wooded gorge steeped in history and a wildlife hotspot with red squirrels, woodpeckers and pine martens, so be sure to pack your camera and binoculars. For those looking for a little more history and culture, Blair Castle can be found in the delightful village of Blair Atholl (9.5 miles) and Castle Menzies, a stunning 16th century castle, can be found near the town of Aberfeldy (14.5 miles), which holds many accolades including being Scotland's first Fairtrade town.

If you're visiting during the Autumn, be sure to get tickets for The Enchanted Forest's award winning sound and light show (3.5 miles) and if you're staying during the winter, bring your skis or snowboard and make the most of the snowy slopes in the area.

We had a wonderful holiday in the cottage overlooking Pitlochry town, it was within easy walking distances to the town as well as other local attractions. A lovely, warm, spacious and comfortable accomodation in a fantastic location. The wood burning fire as well as creating excellent warmth added to the charm. Visit consisted of 6 adults and 3 children, 2 of them teenagers, never at anytime felt crowded. Will definitely consider using again, hopefully for longer than a weekend
