Inside, this delightful property has been tastefully finished in soft muted hues to create a calming space for all. Rustle up family meals in the contemporary kitchen, in which you will find everything you need, plus pretty rear garden views. Dine at the table in the lounge, where there is ample seating for all guests to enjoy romantic or family meals together. Afterwards, sink into one of the inviting leather sofas in the lounge area and settle in for a cosy evening of films on the Smart TV or music on the Bluetooth soundbar. A lovely sunroom with comfortable sofa, dining area and French doors opening onto the garden offers a peaceful alternative space in which to relax during the day. A pretty single bedroom enjoys views over the front garden, while the two double bedrooms upstairs benefit from Smart TVs and ample storage space.

Stepping outside, the enclosed mature wrap-around garden is perfect for al fresco dining and fascinating evenings of stargazing. Set on the edge of Melrose, this property is just 3.5 miles from the birthplace of the Rugby Sevens and the ruined abbey, which dates from 1136. Here you will also find the Wynd Theatre, Harmony House and the annual Borders Book Festival, which takes place in June. From here, walkers can join the St Cuthbert’s Way, which stretches 62 miles to Holy Island (51 miles). A little closer to home, the town of Galashiels (2 miles) offers excellent shopping and leisure facilities including a swimming pool, gym and a cinema for those rainy afternoons. Take to the River Tweed with a spot of salmon or trout fishing, enjoy a round of golf at one of the nearby courses or explore the area on horseback. Surrounded by hills, valleys and miles of forest trails, this area is a haven for walkers and cyclists alike. Soak up some local history with a visit to Abbotsford House (1 mile), home of Sir Walter Scott, Old Gala House (1.5 miles) or Thirlestane Castle (14.5 miles), or hop on board the Scottish Borders Railway from Tweedbank (1 mile) to reach the elegant city of Edinburgh (38 miles).

A wonderful house to chill and relax in.We loved every minute staying in house.Well equipped and hot tub was excellent.Weather was brilliant so we were able to sit in garden area . Love the hotel being so close ...great for food and drinks. We will be back .

Lovely house, very clean and well maintained. The area is beautiful, plenty of shops, restaurants etc within walking distance. Plenty of places to go walking, forests and lochs nearby. Well worth a stay.

We absolutely loved our recent stay at Kingsknowe Cottage. As a family of 4 with 2 dogs there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped for our stay. Really nice cottage. Comfortable and clean. Not enough bin space though. Had to leave bags beside the bins in the drive. Couldnt therefore recycle properly.

The house was lovely, clean and well kept. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything youd need, the living room was spacious and sofas comfortable. The bedrooms were all of good size and beds comfortable. Hot tub was great. We really enjoyed our stay. There are excellent restaurants nearby Herges and the Kingsknowe hotel if you dont fancy cooking. A spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped cottage. It is ideally situated to explore the Borders. Thank you for the very generous welcome pack.

We arrived just after 4pm and were greeted with a welcome pack which even included treats for the dog which we thought was a lovely touch. The cottage and hot tub were immaculate. We sat in the sun room most of our stay when we were in. Melrose is a lovely village and has everything you need. One of the best equipped cottages we've stayed in and spotlessly clean on arrival. Very comfortable and the hot tub was superb. The owner checked the hot tub every day but never disturbed us. Very handy for the train into Edinburgh and some lovely walks nearby. The only downside is the proximity to the A7 as there can be traffic noise. Wonderful short stay at this excellent property. On entering you immediately see the care and attention given by the owners. House was spotless clean and very well equipped. Good sized rooms and great kitchen. The welcome pack was a great surprise. The hot tub was fab and warm, really relaxing. We plan to return one the current situation improves.

The cottage had everything needed to have an amazing holiday. I loved that the owners left us holiday essentials and a bottle of prosecco. We could not fault it at all.
