Set on the outskirts of the picturesque market town of Castle Douglas, this light and relaxing reverse-level property features a private hot tub and an enclosed balcony offering magnificent views. For larger parties, this property can be booked alongside the adjoining property, with interconnecting gates allowing access along the balconies and patio areas.

This stylish property has been beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, making it a fantastic holiday base. Perfect for enjoying al fresco meals on the spacious, furnished balcony, the cottage is perfect whether you want to relax or explore this spectacular area.

Arriving at this lovely holiday property the hallway leads you through to the first of the two cosy bedrooms – a bright and attractive super-king-size zip-and-link room which features a TV/DVD, iPod dock and French doors leading out to the patio. A second bedroom features twin zip-and-link beds, a TV/DVD and iPod dock. The ground floor also offers a delightful bathroom and a utility room.

Heading up to the first floor you will find the spacious and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is an ideal space for sitting back at the end of a great day, with full-length bi-folding doors opening out onto the balcony with its splendid views over the loch and park. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals which you can enjoy in the charming dining area or al fresco on the balcony. There’s also an attractive shower room on this floor.

Outside you will find the fully enclosed rear patio with the private hot tub, and there’s a lovely small enclosed front garden with furniture, a BBQ and bike storage. Off-road parking is available for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a fabulous base for up to four guests looking to explore this wonderful part of the Scottish countryside, with the beautiful Galloway Forest Park (15.5 miles) and the stunning coastline of the Solway Firth (13 miles) within easy reach. The lodge is set within the pretty 18th century market town of Castle Douglas which is a renowned Food Town with approximately fifty businesses producing or selling local food and drink. The Stewartry Agricultural Show takes place each August, and the town is a fantastic base for a variety of pursuits including walking, cycling and golf. You can also go boating on Carlingwark Loch, sample the wares at Sulwath Brewery (0.5 miles) or explore the beautiful Threave Garden and Estate (1.5 miles) and the 14th century Threave Castle on the River Dee (4 miles). Other local attractions include Bainloch Deer Park (13 miles), the Galloway Kite Trail (6 miles) and Galloway Activity Centre on the shores of Loch Ken (10.5 miles) which has a wide variety of activities for all the family including a climbing tower with zipwire, laser tag, archery and sailing. Heading south you can explore the Solway Firth, or visit bustling towns including Kirkcudbright (11 miles) and Dumfries (18 miles).

Just loved everything about this place. Certainly deserves its 5* rating. From the supersized bed, to good quality bed lined, lots of lilly white fluffy towels, lovely decor/lighting and well equipped kitchen. Not to mention the very private hot tub. Views were gorgeous and jusy perfect for your dog. Straight out onto a beautiful walk
