Live out an unforgettable adventure at this grandiose self-catering home in Aviemore and enjoy jaw-dropping views, peaceful seclusion and lashings of home comforts that are sure to delight all generations.

This impressive Edwardian family house, sleeping 11 people over six bedrooms, is tucked back from the A9 so is conveniently located with good access to the local villages of Aviemore and Coylumbridge. However, it remains a secluded and peaceful setting for a family getaway. On the outskirts of the Cairngorms, this property is provided with glorious views of the mountains and the wild landscapes that surround them. This home is ideal for adventurous families and nature lovers as a variety of outdoor activities, including kayaking, climbing, hiking and fishing, can be found within a few miles of your doorstep.

Radiating character and charm, this beautiful property has been furnished with a plethora of antique pieces to tie in with the original features of the house, such as open fires and large bay windows that let light fill the rooms. Modern elements have also been incorporated to keep up with the needs of modern-day living, while also not interrupting the elegance of the period pieces. The excellent attention to detail throughout the property leads to a homely feel and overall sense of comfort.

Downstairs, you’ll find an elegant triple aspect sitting room that makes the most of this spacious room. There is an open fire to keep you warm, as well as comfortable seating areas that provide the ideal space for socialising or entertaining – all with lovely views of your surroundings. Well-equipped with a more modern feel, the kitchen has an Aga for a traditional country-style space, as well as a breakfast bar for light snacks. There’s also a breakfast table so you spend the most important meal of the day together. An ornately decorated dining room is perfectly appointed for more formal meals such as a family celebration. If you fancy a game of pool, there’s a pool table in the spacious games room which also has access to the garden via French doors.

The first floor of the property has six bedrooms which are furnished with crisp linens on the comfortable beds and enjoy splendid views of the vast landscapes outside, so the elegance and comfort carries through to the upstairs. Three of the double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms but there are also two convenient family bathrooms for the other bedrooms to use.

A pretty, private garden surrounds the house, with large lawns across the front and side of the property. On the patio, a seating area provides the perfect space for an evening meal outside under the setting sun while surrounded by woodlands and panoramic mountain views.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £250 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

This beautiful area of the Scottish Highlands has no shortage of things to do. With the Cairngorms so close by, you can travel just 3 miles to the Ski and Snowboard School and get your gear and some advice about traversing these well-loved slopes. In the Cairngorms, there are also many hiking and biking trails, such as the Burma Road which covers miles of breathtaking scenery

Several lochs are located nearby, including the picturesque Loch Alvie only 1 mile away. Here you can walk around the trail, or maybe try your hand at fishing. For those of you who prefer a more active adventure then kayak tours are just 2 miles away at Full On Adventure to guide you down the River Spey. Other interesting locations nearby are Tree Zone Aviemore, a thrilling treetop aerial adventure course, and the Highland Wildlife Park which boasts an amazing variety of animals from all over the world, including Scottish wildcats.

We have just spent a long weekend at Lynwilg and found the house to be great for a party of 10 adults. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, nothing we couldn't find. The space , both inside and out was great, room for all to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay. The arrangements of bedrooms and bathrooms was great. Loved the kitchen and all the endless fridges and freezers (important as we were three families). Not to mention the super garden which was great for the children to play in and the adults to ear outside. We hope to return!
