This wonderful spacious house with its array of fantastic period features is ideally located to explore this picturesque beautiful town on foot and within easy reach of the elegant city of Edinburgh. Please note there is currently a 10% discount for smaller parties of 4-6 people.

This elegant townhouse situated in the heart of Melrose is ideally located for those wishing to explore the borders of Scotland. Perfect for groups of friends, families and three dogs, the outdoor enthusiasts among you can enjoy walking and biking within the Eildon Hills, Southern Upland Way and nearby Glentress Forest, whilst the urbanites will love exploring the bustling town centre with its excellent range of boutique shops, quality eateries, friendly inns and art galleries.

 

Almost a house of two halves, the reception rooms in this stylish home showcase antique furniture and wonderful period features such as ornate fireplaces and intricate cornicing, whilst upstairs the bedrooms are simple and contemporary. Characterful and beautifully renovated with some unusual but stylish features, the house is both welcoming and extremely comfortable.

 

Step inside the grand entrance hall to store all your outdoor clothing and head up the beautiful period staircase. Cook up a storm in the stylish kitchen, before gathering around the large table in the striking dining room. Afterwards, challenge your guests to a game of pool, then retire to the comfortable lounge where colourful artwork punctuates cream walls. Light and bright during the day, this room is cosy once the evening draws in and the wood burner is lit.

 

Simple and bright, a minimalist feel has been created in the five, individually decorated bedrooms, with bright feature walls and colourful linens making a welcome retreat at the end of your day. A lovely twin bedroom and stylish bathroom with a gorgeous roll-top bath are on the first floor, whilst a further four bedrooms are on the second floor. With careful consideration given to the needs of large parties, the three en-suite shower rooms make life easy for mixed-age family groups.

 

Outside, the fully enclosed patio area with hot tub is the perfect place to enjoy a midday al fresco lunch or an evening of stargazing with a nice glass of wine, good local beer or a wee dram. Take a morning stroll around the pretty streets with a coffee in hand and your pup at your heels and watch the bustling shops come to life. There is parking for one car in the garage, roadside parking subject to availability and multiple car parks within a short walk from the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Delve into the history of the local area with scenic walks interspersed with pit stops for picnics and a wee dram of whisky at a welcoming pub. There are remnants dating back to Roman times such as a fort and shrine which you can spy on your travels, but the area is also home to otters, wildfowl and visiting breeding birds for the budding nature enthusiast. Fishermen can cast their line for Atlantic salmon upon the River Tweed, but literature fans will likely appreciate the opportunity to lose themselves amongst the very same countryside that inspired Sir Walter Scott. Scott’s View is 4.5 miles away and overlooks the majestic Dryburgh Abbey and the surrounding heathland. Melrose itself is an enchanting town dotted with shops, eateries and the ruins of the beautiful Melrose Abbey that legend states is home to a casket containing the re-buried heart of Robert the Bruce.

This is truly an amazing property, everything you need and more. We used the hot tub regularly and the fact there is a pool table kept us all entertained for hours on end. Location is perfect, some nice bars and restaurants right on the doorstep along with shops. Would highly recommend this property, just awesome

The house was perfectly situated for visiting the Scottish Borders but with fantastic shops on hand. It easily catered for our party of 8 with the sleeping quarters feeling very private.

This is a fabulous holiday home and our group of 9 adults enjoyed a great 7 days there. The location is ideal in the centre of Melrose and surrounded by pubs, restaurants and shops. Great house, facilities and location in the center of Melrose. Melrose itself had plenty to occupy families and also a great location for visiting the many local places of interest.

Great house for a large family gathering. Well equipped and richly decorated. Plenty of space with pool table and hot tub to add some fun. Located in centre of Melrose within walking distance of many pubs and great restaurants. Golf courses close by. Parking needs a bit of juggling of cars but was not a problem as it is free. Also garage for one caRead morer. Highly recommended. Owners very swift to address minor issue with hottub. Hide
