Minutes from the shoreline of Loch Brora, this pretty stone cottage boasts sweeping views of the Sutherland countryside, best admired from the property''s sunroom with windows on three sides.

Stroll in your lush green grounds, look out at the beautiful loch and watch the burn as it rushes by. This superb Scottish holiday home is set close to the shores of Loch Brora and enjoys magnificent waterside views. Welcoming up to six guests, it is perfectly positioned for exploring the dramatic north-eastern Highlands. Go fishing or canoeing out on the water. Walk through scenic Sutherland and spend time on the coast.

Enjoy the glorious views out over the rolling hills and the loch as soon as you step into your inviting rural retreat. Beautifully modernised and carefully decorated, your three-bedroom home is comfortable, bright and the perfect place to return home to after long days out in the Scottish air.

Step into your comfortable home to discover its appealing lounge/diner, where you can light an open fire when the weather becomes cool. Prepare meals with tasty local ingredients in your kitchen/diner and then choose to sit up at the table in either here or in the lounge/diner. Watch TV together in the evening, play games round the fire or find a few quiet moments to yourself with your book in your sun room. Lose all track of time while you are in here simply gazing out at the views. Find a useful utility room and separate WC at this level too.

Climb the stairs to the first floor when it’s time to lay your head on your comfortable pillow. One of your beautiful bedrooms comes with an en-suite bathroom while the two others share the family shower room.

Enjoy sitting out in the sunshine in your informal gardens. Take in the views and listen to the sound of the babbling burn.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Pack your rucksack and head out from your holiday home to explore your incredible surroundings. Relish the solitude as you look out for herds of deer. Hop on your bike and pause by the loch to picnic to the sound of the water lapping gently on the shore. Drive or cycle 6 miles to Brora. Pass the afternoon in the sunshine on the golden sandy beach here and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, seals and minke whales. Go for a stroll or play a round of golf on the coastal course. Drive just over 11.5 miles to Golspie, where you can browse in the shops, eat out, play tennis and even go to the swimming pool. There are also opportunities here for bowling and mountain biking. Walk up Ben Bhraggie hill while you are here or follow a gorge route through Big Burn to a beautiful waterfall. On your way home, stop at enchanting Dunrobin Castle, just outside Golspie: this has been home to the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland since the 13th century. Drive 15 miles to Littleferry, which is set beside the sea loch of Loch Fleet. Spend an afternoon in the nature reserve, with its woodland walks and plethora of birdlife.

Oldtown Cottage is a lovely and comfortable place to stay. It is very, very quiet and comfortable. With 2 full baths and a half bath, it is convenient for two families or a large family. The two sitting rooms are comfortable plus it has an eat in kitchen and a large dining room. Good place to stay!
