A lovely, cosy little house on the Isle of Arran that makes a great base for seaside holidays.

Set on the beautiful Isle of Arran, this single storey two-bedroom house is an ideal retreat for couples or small families, situated perfectly for stunning sea views on your doorstep. Backing onto Auchenhew which is also available for booking, you are surrounded by expansive lawns overlooking rolling hills and the calming waves surrounding Kildonan. Under 1 mile away are the Kildonan hotel and a sandy beach to enjoy.

The attractive white painted holiday home is spacious inside and out, with bright open-plan interiors. Characterful wooden flooring and fixtures add to the warm country feel of the property. Outside of every window you are treated to uninterrupted far-reaching views of the coastline and country from almost every angle.

Enter the door to the spacious, bright and airy kitchen/lounge/diner, where you will have plenty of space to enjoy your relaxing break. Settle into the comfy deep sofas where you can snuggle up by the electric fire on a rainy evening, getting lost in a favourite film. The country-style kitchen with homely wood features is well equipped for cooking a slap-up meal, and the stylish dining space for four is a great way to spend time together planning the day’s activities. Retire to one of two cosy rooms for the night, choosing from a double and a twin, served by a modern family bathroom with shower over bath.

Outside, enjoy plenty of seating on the patio where you can sit out, imbibing the crisp sea air. Why not enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on the tabled seating, or relax watching the sun set over the sea with a wee dram of whisky.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric oven, micorwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • TV/DVD player

The property is set at a vantage point for uninterrupted views for miles, with sweeping fields nestling the property in picture-perfect surroundings, providing excellent wildlife-spotting opportunities. The rear aspect of the house treats holiday seekers to stunning private views of the waters below.

A sandy beach (1 mile) at Kildonan is the perfect spot for walks along the Ayrshire coast, catching a few rays of sun, or traversing its array of inlets and rockpools. From here you may find yourself gazing over at Ailsa Craig, an island now uninhabited and formed from the plug of an extinct volcano.

Why not try your hand at capturing the stunning Arran landscape, with the Arran In Focus photography workshop under 5 miles away. Tours allow you to explore many breathtaking local scene spots and wildlife, while taking a tailored course suited to all skill levels.

For a memorable day out, you could catch the ferry from Brodick (12 miles) to Ardrossan, where the castle ruins which belonged to William Wallace's uncle lie, and where you might catch the Castle Carnival. A 30-mile drive to Glasgow is within easy reach from here, for a vast range of restaurants, speciality museums, and nightlife to name but a few.

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway. Whether it’s a dog-friendly countryside cottage for two, or a vast and resplendent castle for the entire clan on a tranquil island, we have a holiday in Scotland to suit everyone.
