Situated on the outskirts of the picturesque Highland village of Drumnadrochit, this charming bungalow has a private hot tub and is an ideally situated base for a relaxing holiday.

Children and adults alike will adore a trip to the land of Loch Ness, exploring the legendary monster that lies beneath and enjoying beautiful Scottish countryside. Within short walking distance to the banks of the infamous loch, this well-appointed wee home is the perfect base for your family getaway. Comfortably sleeping four guests and one dog, everyone is catered for here in the Highlands.

All set out on one level, this ground floor home has been comfortably thought out and tastefully decorated. Boasting a welcoming and cosy atmosphere, find antique furniture set amongst traditional soft furnishings and an entirely attractive space to relax.

On arrival, head to the cosy open-plan lounge and dining room. This sociable space is kept warm and toasty thanks to a traditional wood burner, a perfect place to settle on an evening and enjoy dinner and drinks. French doors lead out onto the private garden, creating a great space to entertain a summer party or BBQ. Make preparations for this al fresco dining in the well-equipped kitchen down the hall and look forward to stacking a dishwasher instead of being lumped with the washing up after the revelry ends. When it’s time for bed, you can retire into two cosy bedrooms. The first of these is a spacious double with charming antique vanity table, and the second is a bright twin room that’s ideal for younger guests.

To the rear of the property, accessible via the lounge, you’ll find a manicured private garden that’s enclosed and ideal for your kids and dog to play safely. Unwind in the private hot tub or settle onto the garden furniture for evening drinks. You’ll also find external storage for outdoor equipment here, perfect for locking up muddy bikes.

Wander the waterside ruins of Urquhart Castle (1.5 miles) or embark on a cruise of the vast loch.

Keen fishermen can head out on Loch Ness by boat and fish for sea trout, brown trout or Atlantic salmon, or enjoy river fishing on the River Enrick (1 mile). Those who prefer to explore the area on foot, can embark on a trip up Meall Fuar-mhonaidh (11.5 miles) and admire remarkable views from its summit, some say the best views in the area. For horse riding and mountain biking, you can head towards the Moray Firth and find stables and biking tours 15 miles and 18 miles respectively.

Just back from a fantastic week at Riverside Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The hot tub and covered seating area were brilliant and the dog loved the freedom of the garden.
