Sleeping 10 guests across five bedrooms, this elegant and utterly charming holiday home is made for fun family get-togethers and memorable occasions. The owners have simply thought of everything to make your stay special. Its riverside setting with views over the River Tay is magical, and the hill views inspire walkers to enjoy this idyllic location. Enjoy an easy stroll into Aberfeldy village (0.5 miles), or take a short drive to enjoy longer hikes on some of Alba’s finest trails.

Many original features can be seen in this period property, including stained-glass windows, wood-panelling and original bathrooms. Beautiful antique furnishings, antique beds and log fires add to the property’s character, while contemporary creature comforts and cool additions such as the media/music room with surround sound and high resolution LCD screen, adds a contemporary touch to this fine abode. The caretakers also live on-site in a private separate wing at the rear of the property.

Take a few steps up to the property entrance and head inside where there’s a wonderful front porch with armchairs looking out towards the hill views, and a grand and welcoming hallway where guests can marvel at the lofty double staircase and thaw out by the cosy wood burner. The inviting living room also boasts original wood-panelled walls and wonderful period features on the ceilings, as well as in the tapestry and opulent decor; there’s also a bay window and a wood burner to enjoy, while the dining room has a welcoming open fire, and an original record player - great for vintage evening entertainment. There’s also one double bedroom, a cloakroom, a conservatory, a music and games room (with a piano, toy boxes, and games), plus a TV and DVD player and a large squishy sofa to curl up on after a busy day out. If you can break away from this fun-filled living space, there’s also a well-stocked kitchen with an Aga, a pantry, and a handy coffee-maker, making it easy to rustle up light lunches and feasts for your much-honoured young Lairds and Ladies.

As night falls, head upstairs to find the spacious and comfortable bedrooms, which includes two double bedrooms, a family room (with a double and single bed), and a twin bedroom. There’s also a shower room, and two magnificent Victorian family bathrooms with original roll-top baths.

Outside, there’s an enclosed garden with beautiful planting, garden furniture, an ornamental summerhouse and games. You’ll find a pub, shops, restaurants and amenities within walking distance.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Try a Highland Fling bungee jump (at the NT Killicrankie visitor centre) over the Killicrankie Pass, a spectacular forest location in all seasons (19 miles) and where a Jacobite uprising took place in 1689 near Soldier's Leap, where one soldier escaped by jumping across the river. The location also inspired lyrics from Scotland's greatest bard Robert Burns. Book a local tour with Highland Safaris, such as a visit to Aberfeldy's Red Deer Centre (3.5 miles), where visitors can meet red deer and barn owls up close, enjoy inspiring walks and biking activities, or have a go at gold and gem panning.
