Located in a peaceful setting with fantastic sea views over the world-famous town of St Andrews, outdoor enthusiasts on two and four legs can discover dramatic cliffs and caves, rocky seashores and miles of sandy beaches along the Fife coast from this home from home. Perfect for a small family and two canine chums, this stone cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms. Return after a windswept day for a cosy evening on the sofa, glass of wine in hand and toes warming in front of the roaring wood burner.

This single-storey stone cottage perfectly reflects its coastal location, with blues and sand in various tones seen throughout. Light, grey walls and warm wooden floors complement vivid soft furnishings and vibrant artwork, creating a contemporary and elegant home from home. Breezy and cool during the day, it becomes cosy and warm once the wood burner is lit in the lounge.

Step inside this stylish cottage to discard your outdoor clothing in the hall, before pottering through to the lounge, where plush sofas beckon you to relax with a movie on the Smart TV in the amber ambience as the flames flicker in the wood burner. Make yourself a delicious meal in the light and bright kitchen, and congregate at the table to enjoy family or romantic meals together. Wake rejuvenated in the two super-king-size bedrooms, which can be made up as twins on request, the elegant decor allowing for a peaceful night’s sleep. Start your day with a coffee on the patio as the sun comes up over the countryside, watching the day come alive to the sound of birdsong.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a patio with a comfortable table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining. Lazy evenings in front of the outdoor stove with a wee dram of good local ale or a nice glass of wine is a daily event not to be missed. Kids will love playing games on the large lawn, and you will love unwinding in the wonderful private hot tub – the perfect place to end a busy day.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

St Andrews (3 miles), Scotlands oldest university town and known worldwide as The Home of Golf, has an excellent range of boutique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants - plus a beach and six golf courses. Family-friendly attractions include the Botanic Gardens and the St Andrews Aquarium. To the south of St Andrews is the East Neuk of Fife, a region of quaint fishing villages nestling amongst the natural harbours of the coastline. Crail (12 miles) has one of the prettiest harbours in the area and is well known for shellfish, whilst Anstruther (11 miles) has cobbled streets through a rabbit’s warren of little alleyways and wynds. For more sandy beaches, head to Kinshaldy Beach (12 miles) or south to Leven Beach (13 miles) and Shell Bay (11 miles). For on-lead woodland walks, head to the gothic ruins of Crawford Priory (13 miles), or the house and grounds at Hill of Tarvit (10 miles). Craigtoun Country Park (5 miles) is a fun family day out and has an adventure playground, trampolines, Fairy Glen and a 30ft zip wire. Find lovely little ruins at Balmerino Abbey (15 miles), while urbanites can visit the vibrant city of Dundee (16 miles) with its excellent range of leisure and shopping facilities. Adventures can try land yachting, kayaking, paddleboarding and surfing with Blown Away Experiences (4.5 miles) while East Neuk Outdoors (12 miles) also offers kayaking, canoeing, archery, paddleboarding, bushcraft and fire making. Further afield for city day trips, Edinburgh (48 miles) and Perth (34 miles) are within easy reach, making this a fantastic base to explore the Kingdom of Fife and central Scotland.

This is such a lovely retreat and very close to St. Andrews with close access by car to local shops (5 mins) for your essentials. We travelled as 2 x couples and 2 dogs. The garden is fully enclosed with great outdoor seating and a lovely hot tub. Our weather was fantastic for September and only on the day of leaving did it rain so we were very lucRead moreky. We managed to drive to our nearby towns which are all lovely especially Crail! Would thoroughly recommend and hopefully return. Hide

Just back from a weeks stay at this lovely cottage. It was immaculate & was furnished to a high standard. The outside area was amazing, so tranquil & relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic family break (with dog). Wonderful cottage with all amenities youd expect and more, fantastic location - quiet but only 5 minutes drive from St Andrews town centre which we loved.
