Modern apartment in a central location with a small balcony. Benefiting from elevator access and limited free parking. Shops and pubs within walking distance.

This stylish, contemporary apartment is a charming urban retreat in the heart of the vibrant, trendy neighbourhood of Stockbridge, in the north of the city of Edinburgh. With spacious, bright rooms and an ideal location in a quiet cobbled lane just off the main street of Stockbridge, this place could be your Scottish home away from home.

The property itself is a first-floor apartment, with a sociable open-plan area and balcony overlooking the cobbled street. Its subtly bright and modern interiors will show you the best of European city style.

Accessed via a flight of steps or elevator, enter into the heart of the flat, the open-plan living space. It’s a combination of a spacious and inviting living room, a sweet dining table, and a nifty little kitchen that sits beyond a partition. A TV and electric fire bring cosiness to the space, and a pair of French doors open out onto a balcony, which overlooks the historic Stockbridge street. The decor is fresh and calm but colourful. After a long day of exploring, head through to your comfy double bedroom, lovingly decorated, and with a reading area. The bathroom is next door and offers a shower above bath, so you can have a quick freshen up or a long soak, depending on how you feel.

If you fancy sitting in the fresh air and doing some people watching, head out to your balcony, or take the stairs or handy elevator to the outside, where you can join your neighbours in this friendly community.

The apartment is located in the quaint, popular area of Stockbridge, a place with its own atmosphere and intrigue but close to the heart of Edinburgh's more well-known streets. Just a hundred metres from the apartment sits the main street of the neighbourhood, where traditional pubs, hip eateries, and independent shops are just some of the attractions on offer.

You could also take the scenic route and stroll beside the Water of Leith, through Inverleith Park. Here, you'll find fascinating extra delights like a duck pond and the popular natural spot of the Royal Botanic Garden, with indoor and outdoor displays, manicured and wild gardens, and lovely places to eat and drink. If walking is your thing, you can continue following the Water of Leith and discover a trail of hidden walking and cycling paths that extend around the city, even taking you up to the seaside and port communities of Leith and Newhaven.

Once you've befriended the Stockbridge locals, head into the heart of the city. Princes Street, Edinburgh's mammoth shopping road, begins just 1.5 miles away. From here, you can check out the stunning historical landmarks that are scattered across the city, including the Scott Monument, the Royal Mile, and Edinburgh Castle.

We really enjoyed our stay in this well appointed apartment. Stockbridge is a fabulous place to base yourselves. We ate out most evenings but the flat is well equipped if you prefer to self cater. Had some yummy breakfasts at home and then went exploring. Don't miss the Royal Botanic Gardens which are only a short walk away. Approx 15 minute walk iRead morento town (mainly uphill) but there are loads of buses on the doorstep if you prefer. No problem parking at the rear of the flats. We will be back! Hide

The apartment in St Bernard's Row was a brilliant base for our week in Edinburgh; spacious and comfortable, on good bus routes, and not too far to walk to Princes Street. We mostly ate out (lots of options locally and further afield) but enjoyed relaxed breakfasts before setting off for shops, museums, galleries etc. Walking beside the Water of LeiRead moreth is a delight, and the spring flowers in the Botanic Gardens were looking magnificent. The flat is well located, parking is a bit of a nightmare although it is generally in Edinburgh. The lift wasn't working for most of our stay, which was awkward for taking our food and belongings up the the flat. The flat upstairs had a water leak which leaked into the bathroom from day one and the flat below. This wasn't fixed for a few days, whicRead moreh did affect the enjoyment of our holiday, as we had to keep mopping up the bathroom and liaising with different property managers to get sorted. Hide
