Located on the east coast of the Isle of Arran overlooking Holy Isle, you have so much on offer right from your front door. With some fantastic walks around the property to the beautiful clear waters of the bay it overlooks, with so much on your doorstep you will be spoilt for choice as to what to do next.

Whiting Bay (2.5 miles) is a popular seaside resort and is the third largest village on Arran. Overlooking the sea, it is a lively and vibrant village offering an array of shops and eateries to explore. The area is famous for its walking trail through Glenashdale Falls forest, which offers some fantastic woodland walks; it is also home to what is said to be Arran's most spectacular waterfall.

Lamlash (3.5 miles) lies north at the top of the bay and is considered Arran's largest village by population. The attractive little village has a variety of shops, restaurants, hotels and tearooms, inviting visitors in to try some of their local delicacies. Offering stunning views over Lamlash Bay, the village has a thriving harbour and is renowned for its emphasis on sailing. Overall this cottage is comfortable but tall people would need to mind their heads when entering through the conservatory side door. It rained a lot when we stayed but on the one hot day the conservatory side of the building was extremely hot, verging on the uncomfortable. I understand more blinds are to be provided. It is in a very convenient locaRead moretion, about 15-20 minutes from the ferry, with lovely views. The setting is superb. There is designated parking and the onsite owner is very pleasant. Hide

We had a fabulous stay at Tigh Na Mara. Perfect location with stunning views out over Brodick Bay and Goatfell. The house itself was beautiful. Great facilities, spotlessly clean. We couldnt ask for more. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Tigh Na Mara. Five stars all the way!

We had a lovely week in summer cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and hosts were great. Having the beach just a few minutes walk away was amazing and really made the holiday for us.

The cottage was very comfortable and in a beautiful situation. Access to the local wild beach was a particular bonus and delight. We enjoyed everything we did on Arran and hope to return.

Lovely cottage and an ideal location for exploring Arran. Less than 15 minutes drive from Brodick, Summer Cottage was well equipped, nice and cosy and comfortable. The very friendly owners were on-site to greet us and explain how everything worked in the property and did occasionally pop by to see that all was well. The large double bedroom had an Read moreen-suite bathroom and the large sitting area with conservatory was a pleasant space to be in - we even had a red squirrel run across the roof! Only slight criticism would be the second bedroom as our boys (aged 12 and 14) were a bit big for the bunk beds, but if you are coming with younger children or as a couple then Summer Cottage makes an ideal base for discovering the wonderful Isle of Arran. We absolutely loved our stay at Summer Cottage. The location, the view, the beach... simply stunning. The cottage is superbly equipped and had everything we needed. Even a dishwasher :)! Hosts were also lovely and gave us great tips on what to see and do on beautiful Arran. We will definitely be back!

Cottage lovely - very cosy, light, very well-equipped. A very short walk to the sea (overlooking Holy Island) and the coastal path. 30 mins walk along it to Whiting Bay. Nothing too much trouble for the owners next door and lots of helpful advice. We would definitely stay here again. We loved Arran, particularly seeing an otter very close, seals, BRead morerodick castle (particularly the adventure playground and fairy trail), walking to the standing stones, Lamlash Coast centre (a must), mountain biking, heritage museum. We'll definitely go again. Hide
