Located in the heart of Perthshire means you will be in reach of some of the highlights the Highlands have to offer. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the village has a variety of circular walks on offer as well as a local shop, post office and two pubs.

The beautiful ancient city of Perth (10 miles) is just a twenty minute drive away and is teaming with sites to see and activities to try. With its waterside location on the bank of the River Tay, it is one of Scotland's most cosmopolitan cities , rich in culture and history displaying monuments, art galleries, museums, bustling cobbled streets, Georgian townhouses, restaurants, boutiques and so much more. This city never ceases to surprise you and you will not be disappointed if you spend a whole day exploring here.

The village of Auchterarder (6.5 miles) often known as ‘Lang Toun' is not one to be missed as it has the longest street in Scotland. The owners of this bothy have thought of everything right down to a wee jug of milk for a cuppy on arrival. Beautiful countryside with many walks. We particularly liked Kincladie woods. The area is steeped in history for those interested in Witchery and Romans. Good location for a base to visit other attractions in Scotland.

This is the second time my husband, myself and the dog have had a break at this property and we love it. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

The Bothy has been converted to a high standard, is well maintained and was very clean for our arrival. The owners have made good use of the available space and, as such, have managed to fit in everything needed for a 2 person (and dog!) holiday. The kitchen is small but well equipped and perfectly suitable for holiday cooking. There is a good sizeRead mored fridge with freezer compartment which was handy for us as our dog is raw-fed. I'm never sure exactly what to expect will be provided in self catering accommodation, but it was clear that the owners put thought into things which can make your stay easier: tea towels and dish sponge; washing up liquid; hand soap; kitchen roll; shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. On arrival there was a pint of milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and fresh eggs from their hens. The accommodation is ideally located for exploring much of Scotland, whether you are looking for a rural or an urban holiday with several cities within very easy driving distance. We took advantage of the many walks in the area which our dog loved! The phone signal at The Bothy is not great but free WiFi is provided and was a good speed. The accommodation also has Sky TV. The owners were very warm and helpful when we spoke on the phone and in person. Hide
