This lovingly converted 19th century barley mill, with original wheel, is the perfect location to enjoy a wonderful holiday. Its many unique features, are cleverly matched with contemporary touches to give a relaxed, comfortable and spacious experience.

This impressive home, sleeping 11 + 2 guests and two dogs across six en-suite bedrooms, has been beautifully converted from an historic barley mill. Retaining many original features, it has both a contemporary and stylish feel throughout, and provides a wonderful base for larger groups of friends or family. Nestled in the beautiful Scottish countryside, those looking to step back from modern life to get back to nature and enjoy the great outdoors, will find this to be the ideal retreat.

There are many clues to this property’s fascinating history with a number of its original features taking centre stage. The original millstone and grinding wheel have been retained in the sitting room. An open tread stairway connects all floors, with natural light filtering through the gaps of the ash wooden flooring. Exposed brickwork and beams, along with botanical prints and unusual objects of art, all add to its distinctive character. Full underfloor heating is throughout the ground floor making it warm and cosy during the colder months.

The spacious sitting room is a charming area where you and your guests can relax and unwind in front of the roaring open fire. With two areas offering ample seating, everyone will be able to find a spot, whether they’re curled up with a book or chatting into the early hours. Steps lead up to a large open-plan kitchen and dining area where you can cook up a roast with a four oven electric range style cooker and a wide range of modern appliances. The large table in the adjoining dining area which seats 12 enjoys lovely views of the garden and Benrinnes. The large utility room is ideal for storing muddy boots and outdoor equipment you may have brought along, it also includes a second fridge, small freezer and large chest freezer can be found in the garage.

On the mezzanine floor, you’ll find two of the six bedrooms. They are all en-suite and have been beautifully furnished with attractive fabrics and electric blankets. All have been decorated in warming and neutral tones, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Heading up to the main landing and first floor, you'll discover a further twin room and master bedroom, complete with vaulted ceiling and stunning views across to Benrinnes.

The property extends on to the second floor which is home to a spacious attic room with single bedroom and shared bath. This is an ideal place for younger members of the group, with two additional trundle beds to accommodate extra little guests.

Soak up the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings in the natural fenced garden, featuring a small stream flowing throughout the grounds, which once ran the mill wheel and for those summer days use the BBQ to enjoy al fresco dining outside.

This was a perfect house for three generation of my family (4 years to 66 years) - and we all had a wonderful time. The house was immaculate, extremely well equipped, very warm despite the outside temperature and the bedrooms and en suites were perfect.
