A home-from-home whilst exploring local Galloway, this cosy cottage is the ideal spot for a romantic getaway or trip with friends.

Set in a quiet rural location, surrounded by open farmland, this one-bedroom whitewashed cottage is perfect for couples seeking a tranquil getaway. With walks from the doorstep, you can spend your days exploring the bridleways and trails through the unspoilt countryside. Try your hand at a new water sport on Loch Ken (5 miles) or hop in the saddle to ride the trails through the Galloway Forest (10 miles).

Located on a working farm, your charming single-storey cottage enjoys a remote location where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Take in the magnificent views as you dine alfresco at the picnic table or tip your head back for some stargazing in the clear skies above you.

The single-storey cottage has a cosy feel to it with neutral decor and bright soft furnishings. Follow the ramp to the front door and enter your rural retreat. You’ll find everything you need for preparing tasty meals in the well-equipped kitchen to share around the contemporary dining table overlooking the countryside. After a long day of outdoor activities, relax on the comfortable sofa in the spacious lounge. Beamed ceilings and warm tones make this a cosy and inviting space to sit and share a bottle of wine late into the evening. Relax in the double bedroom and get a peaceful night’s sleep in the restful space. The cottage also has a shower room.

Surrounded by farmland, sit at your garden picnic bench with a morning coffee and listen to the sounds of livestock in the fields or, on warm evenings, share an al fresco supper and watch the ever-changing colours of the mountainside.

With over 7000 stars visible to the naked eye, the Galloway Forest Park is home to the UK's first Dark Sky Park, one of only four in the world and a special place to spend an evening. Overlooking the heart of the forest, Clatteringshaws (11 miles) offers some of the best viewing in the area. During the daytime, visit the Red Deer Range (15 miles) in the forest, where over 60 red deer live. Wonderful holiday cottage giving you a home from home experience. Very remote but perfect for those who want to unwind and destress. There is no mobile phone signal in the actual cottage but Wi-Fi is a reasonable speed. Bring carrots for the Donkeys! Nearest village with full amenities and a petrol station is Dalry. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely place to stay. Quiet, great for the dog-we were able to use the back garden and the huge dog exercise field to try and teach our dog recall, and she's got a way to go but first day back home she was a lot more onto it!
