Perfect for families seeking a peaceful base from which to explore the Perthshire countryside, there are estate walks and wildlife straight from the door of your countryside cottage. Explore the different trails by foot or cycle at Glenfarg (4 miles) with leisurely woodland walks and challenging mountain bike terrain. The vibrant city of Perth (11 miles) boasts independent boutiques, welcoming pubs and award-winning restaurants to discover.

With vibrant interiors and a stylish design, your rural retreat boasts spacious accommodation for the whole family. The open-plan living space encourages socialising, a theme that is continued outside where you can indulge in a rejuvenating soak in the outdoor hot tub and share a sociable al fresco meal on the patio.

Step into the open-plan kitchen/diner/living room, a wonderful space for relaxing and socialising. Chat with friends over meal preparation in the large kitchen area where you can rustle up a hearty meal for the family to enjoy at the chunky dining table that seats all six guests comfortably. Two steps lead into the inviting seating area, with sumptuous sofas for you to curl up in and relax with a good book or glass of wine. There’s a handy shower room on this floor too.

When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to the three lovely bedrooms. Your master super king-size bedroom is a luxurious space with an en-suite shower room, and the two zip-and-link twin/king-size bedrooms are equally well-appointed with colourful soft furnishings. There is also a spacious contemporary family bathroom.

Take breakfast on your private patio garden around the large garden table and make plans for your day or gather for a sociable BBQ late into the evening as the hot tub bubbles away. Ample parking is available at the cottage.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Your cottage is surrounded by the wonderful grounds of the Rossie Ochil estate and you can spend your days discovering woodland walks and countryside trails through the estate. Sitting at the foot of the Ochil Hills, lace up your walking boots for a challenging day hiking Ben Cleuch and King's Seat Hill, both of which offer spectacular views across the Scottish Lowlands.

Spend the day at beautiful Loch Leven exploring the Loch Leven National Nature Reserve, home to countless birds and wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for ospreys, otters and kingfishers that frequent the tranquil waters as you stroll around the banks of the loch. Follow the Loch Leven Heritage Trail, a 13-mile route around the loch that you can walk, jog or cycle along, stopping at the viewing hides and information boards to find out more about the loch. At the far end of the loch, the RSPB Centre has expansive views across the loch and woodland trails to be discovered.

Take the passenger boat to Lochleven Castle (11.5 miles), scene of Mary Queen of Scot's imprisonment and dramatic escape. Explore the tower house rooms where she planned her escape and wander the peaceful island and woodland walks.

Scotland's newest city, Perth (11 miles), has shops, bars and restaurants for you to discover. Browse the art galleries and independent stores for a unique memento of your holiday, before enjoying a meal in one of the welcoming cafes and restaurants. See the city from a different perspective with a relaxing pleasure cruise along the River Tay towards Elcho Castle. Uncover the history of the Black Watch regiment at Balhousie Castle, a fascinating museum found inside this historic building.
